Certain players are doing my head in with this nonchalant way of doing everything like they dont give a shit. Salah, Ox, Origi stick in my mind from yesterday. They sort of pass and take shots like they're just warming up on the side of the pitch and the ball has accidentally come to them. No urgency. How often do we see Salah put his laces through something? Salah is a world class player, but he's so frustrating, he's got a bit of the Luis Garcia's about him. I wish he'd look like he really wants the pass to reach it's target, or he really wants to make sure the ball hits the back of the net, and he just doesn't, half the time he looks like he's just pissing about.
For the amount of times Origi and the Ox come up with anything decent, they're really not worth letting anywhere near a starting 11. Keep them at the club for bench options IF we are winning a game, but that's it.

I don't think we were great yesterday, but got our heads together when the other first teamers come on. Some good work from Bobby up top as soon as he came on, and then we look like scoring, why can't he do that every game? Cracking Goal from Curtis, fair play to the lad.
Thought Keita is showing signs he's getting into a groove now, so the medical dept had better prepare themselves.

A win is a win, and that's what it's about now, just grind out these last few games.

We've got Brighton and Burnley this week, easier games on paper (you what that means obviously) but the arse and chelsea the week after that, so we really need to be back in the pre-lockdown groove sharpish if we want to finish the season on a high and maybe go for some records.

Fuck me, you're complaining about nonchalantly Salah and co are shooting and passing?

We've pissed the league and still people can find the smallest things to complain about.

I give up.

This is a thread about yesterdays game mate, we didn't win the league during yesterdays game. Any game where we win or lose, or players play fantastic or rubbish, shouldn't be discussed moving forwards due to the fact 'we won the league'.

Klopp got it wrong.

Chamberlain and Keita together just doesn't work. We've tried it before and it was abysmal and it was no different here. They couldn't link the defense to the attack or even protect us on the counter. We were both toothless in attack and also badly exposed on the counter. It was just all sorts of wrong. Chamberlain being the worst of the performers today, although Robertson and Origi were not far behind.

The difference Gini, Henderson and Firmino made was night and the day. We passed the ball better, moved it quicker, dominated the space, allowing Keita more of a free roam to carve through their midfield. It worked. Mane looked the player who was most up for it and taking responsibility after a dismal showing again City so it was no surprise he was the first scorer.

Brilliant cameo from Jones, too. The lack of fans probably makes it a bit easier for the youngsters but I don't think that applies to Jones. He's just wants to demand the ball as cause damage. Great to see.

The first time Klopp played Ox and Keita in the same midfield was at Genk. Here’s what I wrote about that game at the time:
Having rewatched the first half I have to say the feeling that Genk was causing our defense serious problems turned out to have be mostly an illusion: their first attempt with Samatta running onto a long clearance and shooting well wide was the only genuine, legal chance. The big Nigerian striker's 1 on 1 was a clear offside and would have been overruled by VAR had Alisson not saved it. The goal was correctly disallowed for offside. The dangerous cross by Ito that just evaded Samatta was offside as well (the linesman actually raised his flag on this one, finally). And that was just about all Genk created in the first half.

I think the biggest problem in the first half has been Salah not really being match fit and Mane also having a quiet game by his standards, coupled together with some understandable occasional sloppiness by Ox and Keita, who have been making their first ever start in midfield together. This meant that our slick passing in midfield didn't translate into much in terms of genuine attacking chances; then maybe on one or two occasions Keita or Ox tried to do too much and left Fabinho open (fortunately the birthday boy dealt with everything superbly). Ian Doyle in the Echo wrote that the "midfield experiment" with Ox and Keita "may not be seen again any time soon," let's hope he's wrong.

It’s interesting that the Ox-Keita midfield led to completely different problems in. Those 2 games: against Genk we’ve created plenty, but also seemed to concede lots of chances (even though most of them were the offside), this time we barely created anything.
