Has anyone (who knows anything about the game) noticed how Lucarse has shown great game intelligence, helped control the game, and also maintained possession?

He should have started

We've missed Lucas's incisive passing, goal threat and explosive runs
Why, because Aquilani's offered fuck all in that department?
Just like Lucas has most of the season, and he's been healthy since day 1 (in the incisive passing, goal threat and explosive run department)
Lucas offers more than Aquilani.
I think you're being harsh on Aquilani - if he'd have Lucas like health and the same kind of run in the 1st 11, we'll be able to judge that better. That you make that statement after PROBABLY seeing how good Aqua has been in Italy says you either rate Lucas far too highly or something else.

I guess you're going to put Aqua on Rafa though? 2nd straight year with a very poor 20 million+ signing?
Lucas offers more than Aquilani.
Lucas - 36 starts 0 goals 1 assist.
Aquilani - 7 starts 0 goals 2 assists.
Let it be Andy ... this is like Ryan with Agger and like I was with Kuyt ... He'll cure himself eventually, he's not like Brendan.
Well, you've made an utter cock out of yourself for years now re Kuyt, so I've some work to do for that comparison to be a fair one.
Utter cock? Or just a fan who cared more about his team than individuals? I won't go into all your BS love affairs with players who turned out absolute shit, I know you're far more intelligent than me footy wise, so I'll just be asking for it and my poor ego doesn't need the hammering.

Lucas is the best. I'm with you.

Who do we have assuming we get through?
I don't think they do the predictive text until the next round.

Good: agger, aurelio, patches, babel, masher

Eggnog was hopeless, but scored, so well done our 'good, shit' player

Bad; Purple (again), Kuyt, Riera
babel should hav started the game. seriously, how bad was riera today?
Riera is better than Babel, so it was reasonable for him to start. Sadly he was shit.

Babel looked a Liverpool-player today.

Pacheco is very very promising.

Gerrard looked like Gerrard, but first when moved back into midfield.

Otherwise rather crappy stuff.

we were saving Riera for this game - that's probably the reason he didn't play against the Gooners.

A red kit tends to do that.

Babel was good
He won't start against Citeh, and I'm with that. But hopefully he'll get 20-30 minutes to add on to today's opposition. I know they were shit but this lad just needs some confidence. I don't think he'll make it here but if he can get into good form - a Kuyt run of good form - then he can perhaps resurrect his career here (or wherever we move him to next year)

Lille or Fenarbache

Babel was good, and Riera wasn't himself today at all. Still, nice to see Pacheco get a glimpse of action, and unlike so many starlets actually made an impact, as those watching the ressies, thought he might. If we had scored early we would have thrashed these, but fair play to them, they had a plan and executed it very well.

I thought Kuyt's first half was good.

Aqualini can pass the ball but needs an eternity to execute it. He is a chicken shit in the tackle too.
Riera did himself no favours tonight and is unlikely to play against City, Maxi it is then.
The ref was shit. Masher close to getting a peno and Ngog gets nothing for having the leg taking from under him. They got a free evertime they dived at the slightest touch.
Patcheco still looks like he could be the business.
Babel tried. Yay!

In fairness mate he's usually not very good either.

Tonight though was as weak a performance as i've seen from a Liverpool player in a long time and that's saying something.

I don't know if it's just me but you can tell when babel is 'up for it' literally in the first five minutes when he enters the field. he has been up for in in the past two games. I'd start him v man city but no way is rafa going to do that.

When does Eggnog's competition prize expire?
What, the "competition he won to be a Liverpool player for the day"?

Are these gags on a 6 month loop? Weapons grade humour there Bren.
The Plessisaurrrrrrrrrrr won the last one. Rarrrrrrrr

apart from the first 2 minutes.

...of each half, to be fair.
