Liverpool v Swansea Match Thread

I'm sick of saying it but it's fucking despicable that we've not done anything in this window.

Yep. Had a half decent chance at having a really good season, and even knowing that our most effective player was off for lord knows how many games, we do nothing about that and nothing about the non defending defence.

We've just lost form. I think we flattered to deceive a bit earlier in the season, mixed with teams figuring out how to counter our play.

Showed some fight in second half but swans are shite and this was poor overall. The warning signs have been there for the past few weeks.

Well that's the end of title talk or talk that we don't need creative players.

What a pile of shite.

Massive 2 games coming up now.

Fuck off that was shite. Awful performances all around bar Firmino.
Defending like cunts.
Poor from Klopp aswell.

Weekend ruined

Glad I missed the game. Title challenge over I think.
We missed Matip and Mané right?

Three on target. Three goals. Same old same old

It's this every fucking week and its driving me up the wall. How on earth can every team that we play every week have a conversion rate of 75-100% against us of shots on target, EVERY WEEK?! What the actual fuck.

How do you concede 3 goals to a team playing an ultra defensive 451 for 95 minutes?

The defence was a joke today.

MANE !!! it was obvious from recent performances this outcome was likely. The bottom teams can cause us problems.

Its hurts when you lose to the bottom teams by the odd goal, those things happen. But to concede 3 at home is a disgrace. Most of that back line needs binning and Klopp has had two transfer windows to do something about it.

Certainly did, but I worry that there is a more fundamental issue with regards to how we control games and nullify threats by changing the momentum of the game with more controlled play

Obviously we have massive problems in defence, because Matip's absence can't explain these all too predictable defensive collapses

We are fundamentally brittle

Origi is and studge are out of form. Crosses came in the second half and the were times they were out of the six yard box

There is part of it but we've missed Matip and Mane.

We could really have done with Sturridge showing some form now.

Klopp made two bad calls with his subs I think.
Not bringing on Matip for Klavan when Klavan was clearly shitting himself about getting a second yellow and he should't have brought Origi on for Can as we had just equalized and were well on top.
Our loss of shape contributed hugely to the third goal for Swansea.

Sturridge really is a sad shadow of his former self. Read Ryan's post in the "decline of Daniel Sturridge" thread for a spot on assessment of how he now cannot do what made him so fearsome three years ago.

It's weird to be subbing centre halves when you're two down though.

Normally I would agree but realistically we only had two attacking options to bring on so we might as well have used that third sub to avoid a sending off and shore up the defense.
it seemed like the Swansea players were deliberately targeting Klavan, as you would expect in the circumstances.

Strikers need confidence and prolonged runs in the first team. Either play him or sell him. What's happening at the mo is nonsense.

They have to contribute something to deserve prolonged runs though.

Chicken and egg. So if he's not gonna be given that run, sell. What's the point otherwise?
