Liverpool v Swansea Match Thread

Chicken and egg. So if he's not gonna be given that run, sell. What's the point otherwise?

Not really.

If you get picked, you play like you never want to be dropped again.

If you lack confidence, fitness or whatever, it's probably best you sit out the match anyway.

and how do you get your confidence back if it's a run in the side you need? But you only get a run in the side of you play well?

Klopp made too bad calls with his subs I think.
Not bringing on Matip for Klavan when Klavan was clearly shitting himself about getting a second yellow and he should't have brought Origi on for Can as we had just equalized and were well on top.
Our loss of shape contributed hugely to the third goal for Swansea.

After the 2-2 goal we should have subbed Klavan with Matip and then kept the shape as it was. I wanted to sub Can at HT but at 2-2 we were on top and changing Klavan with Matip would have made more sense.
Origi was already on his way in to the game but Klopp should have changed his approach when we got the 2-2 goal.

Awful fucking game. Going to need 5+ new quality players to even come close to competing next year. Race to top 4 is going to be fun as long as Mane, Matip, and Coutinho are in form.

Play in the reserves or U23 or whatever it is nowadays and the cups until you you feel confident again.

That doesn't do anything for your confidence as you're being dumped with the b squad, of course. As I also said earlier you need a decent run, but that means a run with he players you need to learn to click with. Look at the system we play and how fast it is when it works. A good run with the other players up front helps build that "telepathy" etc.
Can't get that without a decent run.
At the moment he gets the odd start and rarely a full game. This cycle won't break unless he's played or sold. The bottom line is that we've been trying the same thing with him for ages, and it's not working. A demotion to the reserves will wreck his confidence and possibly his attitude. Play him or sell him. We're getting one goal a season in the league out of him at the moment.

We can't afford to carry anyone whilst they find their confidence. All that telepathy and team work needs to be worked on in training.

Training? That goes a certain way but if it were as easy as just training we should be able to slot anyone in anywhere and have them click. Doesn't quite happen though does it? Nope. It's never the same as having to carry off all those little manoeuvres when a reall opposing team is on you.

So what's your suggestion? Keep as we are and at this rate we will get two league goals this season, bearing in mind he's been dumped in for cup games etc already so that route has been tried. Sell him? Or play him in the first team for a while? Any other suggestions. As I can't see any at the moment.
