Liverpool related transfer speculation

I'll just add that the Porto fan I know also said (but I forgot to post) that he is much like Trent in that he puts in cracking crosses but is still learning, he's 18, the defensive side of the game. However he also said that he feels that at the moment he's not yet as good as Bradley (I'm always amazed as how much about the PL / Liverpool, fans of other clubs on the continent, know about us and our players).

I tried looking through some Porto fan Twitter.

Martim Fernandes is not a starter for Porto, but is seen as one with great potential. I think his position in the team can be compared with Quansah or Bajcetic in ours. Some fans think he is the next superstar while most think he is not ready to be a starter for them.

BREAKING: Liverpool FC sporting director Richard Hughes has said the club have prioritized signing a player with the name “Martin” this summer.

“It’s a terrific defensive and defensive midfield name and we’re committed as a club to signing players with good sell on value. We are also watching academy players coming through whose middle name is Martin”, said Hughes.

Looks like he has been the preferred right back all season.

So, Martin Keown then?

Started 14 of 26 matches in the league.

Not bad for a 19 yr old bit still..

Would have been more without an injury it seems. This kid has an insane range of passing as well, so if we are looking at a TAA profile but with maybe better defending this could be the one.

It’s a smokescreen - Hughes actually said he wanted “more tan” this summer as spending all his time in the office playing solitaire had allowed his pasty-white Scottishness to creep back into his well manicured look - he needs a bit of colour so expect some over seas trips to Spain and Portugal under then cover of signing players so he can work on his tan.

Frimpong is doing the round on Twitter. He is HG, is I think a Liverpool supporter and he loves VVD.

He’s also very religious apparently - seems to be a theme with Liverpool players of late.

Alison, Gomez, Gravy, Gakpo and before that Bobby - so that probably ticks the box about non-wanker personality in that he’s not coming to check out the hookers and get on the booze….

…. Well not openly at least.

No surprise, really. If Slot doesn't fancy him then it's best for all parties he moves on. I'd love him to stay and thrive, but life at the top is cut-throat and without a clear position his career could just drift along like this year has. Neco Williams is likely to be back playing CL football next year, so he should take some comfort in that, and find a club that has a vision for how he can play regular first team football. Klopp got more out of Harvey, but I reckon Slot is more reliant on Szobo's physicality because he doesn't have Endo in the team, like Jurgen did. If he picked a midfield of Mac--Grav--Elliott then he would have to be fearful plenty of physical teams can outfight those three.

If he is to go, ideally we'd find an athletic, tall and creative AM to swap Elliott out for. He would be missed. I like Elliott's love of the club and that comes through on the pitch time and time again, but objectively, I get it.

Not surprising in all honesty.

A good offer for Harvey Elliot would be enough to see Liverpool accept, @MelissaReddy_

It’s a silly sentence. EVERYONE has a price and will be sold if the selling club thinks it’s good enough.

The writing has been on the wall all season for The Boy. Seems a strange sale though as we are having a large upheaval with the squad.
