What the fuck is wrong with our passing ? Skrtel - awful heading, clearances and passing; Lucas - horrendous passing and heading; Sterling - stop trying to beat everyone every time and stay on your feet ; Henderson - Henderson who ?
How about some width, some ideas. Henderson + Lucas passing it back and forth for a full minute because a) they had no idea what to do and b) there was no width.
When I saw the line-up I was pleased and anticipated an attacking performance - 2 shots we've had. Two.

Neither are getting on the ball enough in the areas they can do damage - when they do they have looked the most likely to make it happen.
The blame for that goes to Henderson, Lucas and Coutinho who keeps trying to go through the centre-left slot when he's up against 3 players. How about using Moreno ? He's the only one making progress in wide positions - yet Sterling ignored him when he made a great run and instead held on to it, and did nothing with it.
Lot of huffing from us but not much else.
Sterling and Lallana have looked the two most likely to make something happen. Coutinho looks to be carrying a knock - not moving freely in the last 15 minutes.
Lambert has been trying but, really, hasn't managed to get anything to happen though he could do with a few more crosses like the one Lallana gave him for what was about our best chance.
Lucas has been very good. Henderson has been doing a lot of talking but he's been so ineffectual otherwise it's absurd. He doesn't drift out of the game he just simply disappears all together.
Toure has had a couple of scary moments - in particular the last play of the game when Brown could easily have scored from the corner. Skrtel hasn't been exactly solid but he's been the better CB for us.
One loss of possession excepted Johnson has been very good for us on the right. Has given their left side no rest and constantly stepped up to intercept and pass or bring the ball forward.
Moreno, while not as obvious, has also been pretty good for us on the left but has been giving his opponents a lot more room which allows them to run at our back four. That never makes us look comfortable.
Ming - has had absolutely nothing to do which is a good thing all round.
Wickham for them has been the one causing the problems. He's gone down twice looking for a pen - waved away both times but still no card. Lucas and Skrtel have already pointed out to the ref that that's twice - how many efforts at simulation does he get?

just think of rafa's team with mash, alonso, torres and gerrard. we just have a bunch of children these days.
think of last season. now watch lambert plodding round as our main goal threat. it's enough to sack rodgers.
Don't think that was it at all. There was nobody in front of them moving - looked like some training cones standing in front of them. Absolutely nobody moved - they were just standing there and watching them. Coutinho really looked hobbled at that point - sort of expecting Gerrard for the start of the second half.
I'd pull Henderson (not going to happen) and Coutinho and put on Allen & Gerrard.

When that happened Sunderland had 10 behind the ball and packed the centre keeping it tight ..... movement there wouldn't help as there was little to no space to work in, we needed width to spread the defence.
