I really hope we try Cole in the centre, Kuyt on the left and Gerrard on the right. I doubt we'll see him try it though. Cole will probably be stuck out uselessly on the left.

We should win regardless though. The quality of personnel should ensure that regardless of formation.
Joe Cole has been fucking shit in the hole for us so far, and should be played on the left. He hasn't struck up a chord with Torres.
What the fuck are you talking about? How many games exactly has he played behind Torres, please remind me. And he has NOT been fucking shit in the hole. In fact, he's been quite good when he's played there in the Europa League.
That's just wrong.

Every time he's been played in the hole he's been making the wrong decisions and it's harming our attacking play. No manager has ever played him in and number 10 role, and so far we're seeing why. He'll need time to 'learn' the position, and that's not something we have at the moment. We need results.
Where the hell is this coming from? He was superb against Rabotnicki, Trabzonspor and Bucharest when he played in the hole, being a MOTM contender in all matches!!!

As for not forming a partnership with Torres, he’s not even played a single game behind him yet!

Is there anybody that can see us keeping a clean sheet ?
I will be surprised if we concede TBH.

Some people may be disappointed from the way we started the season but a) look at the players on each team FFS and b) look at Sunderland's away record (and goals for in all comps) !

I've done it now haven't I ? *hangs head*

You'll see.

His first step is to pass backwards, rather than playing the ball forward quickly. He's not comfortable in the role at all because he doesn't know it.

How many players are normally in front of him ?

we're playing sunderland at home. gerrard should be in the middle next to raul with cole behind torres or even cole on the left with torres next to patches or n'gog.

starting with poulson in a game like this immediately puts us on the back foot.

Bent shits goals though Froggie.
Sunderland's Goals For in all comps *cough cough*.

I think they are also missing 3 or 4 1st teamers today if I'm not mistaken ? I could be.

Well, actually we won't see. Cole will start on the left and if we're winning, Roy won't change anything and if we're losing, I doubt Roy will have the tactical nous to change things.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky, Poulsen, Gerrard, Kuyt, Meireles, Cole, Torres. Subs: Jones, Agger, Jovanovic, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Lucas, Ngog.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Onuoha, Turner, Bramble, Bardsley, Elmohamady, Henderson, Cattermole, Malbranque, Welbeck, Bent. Subs: Gordon, Zenden, Da Silva, Riveros, Reid, Colback, Gyan.

And our defence havent been rock solid so far... I dont understand why they have looked so shaky. 4 good full internationals. Should be strong, duell players with some range in the air. Why is this so problematic?

You got to love how the shitness of Maxi has turned Kuyt into this glorious world beater.
Hope he has a good game today, because it seems like a long, long time ago that Kuyt was consistently good.

Get a tv ya cheapskate

I wish Roy would reward Shelvey with a place on the bench since he played quite well the last game.

He hates Dr. Evil for some reason.

There has to be some motivation for the kids. Play well and you could get a spot on the bench, Nothing to lose, you can have 7 on the bench.

One, which means he has to be very good in this role to find him, and he just isn't.

He's hardly alone in being allergic to a forward pass, it goes throughout our side. However Joe Cole has missed opportunities to play people in, but a lack of awareness has left a potential chance go unexploited. I'd rather have him on the left, where he's familiar with, and given Gerrard the licence to support Torres.

Sorry Squiggs but that is NOT what I saw at OT. Cole played plenty of balls forward - but virtually everyone was long ! He just couldn't get the pace of the ball.

Attacking the Kop in the first half.
Must be Bruce's idea. Fuck you Fathead.

*I don't care if it's not his idea, it's still his fault.
