I really hope we try Cole in the centre, Kuyt on the left and Gerrard on the right. I doubt we'll see him try it though. Cole will probably be stuck out uselessly on the left.

We should win regardless though. The quality of personnel should ensure that regardless of formation.

Joe Cole has been fucking shit in the hole for us so far, and should be played on the left. He hasn't struck up a chord with Torres, he doesn't play the ball forward quickly enough and too often is playing the safe ball at the minute. He doesn't have the awareness to play number 10, because he's never played there before. He just thinks he should.

I don't have the patience or the tolerance to indulge players in their favoured positions to the detriment of the side.

In fairness, after his performance against Old Trafford I'm starting to fear the worst about Konchesky.

I hope it was just a blip, because he was *awful* that day.
 
He was good in the first half, but shit in the second. Particularly when we changed to two up front and freed up Scholes to start pulling the strings.
 
i started watching baldy particularly when it seemed grandpa would bring him here. his performance against utd is exactly what he'll do for us.

what for rosco? i think konchesky is an awful signing, poulson is too old and too slow for the premier league and i think hodgson is the worst managerial appointment in my lifetime.

i refuse to accept another false dawn and put my faith in players that are far far too inferior than the level required.

there is nothing wrong with expressing these views

yes today is a huge game and i hope we finally perform and win well but i have my doubts.

Our lads really can't have any excuses today as far as im concerned though. We've got the better players and we're at home, so they've simply got to start showing a bit of fight and get the job done.

What the fuck are you talking about? How many games exactly has he played behind Torres, please remind me. And he has NOT been fucking shit in the hole. In fact, he's been quite good when he's played there in the Europa League.
 
Who's better though mate? Sunderland or Rabotnicki?

We need the win today, and poncing about whith who wants to play where over who's position is most likely to succeed in getting us the points is worthless. If we get 3-0 up, put him there, but win the game 1st and foremost.

That's just wrong.

Every time he's been played in the hole he's been making the wrong decisions and it's harming our attacking play. No manager has ever played him in and number 10 role, and so far we're seeing why. He'll need time to 'learn' the position, and that's not something we have at the moment. We need results.
 
We should win regardless. But I don't understand how Cole playing in the centre decreases our chances of winning. I think we'll end up playing better football with a front three of Gerrard---Cole----Kuyt than Kuyt-----Gerrard-----Cole and playing better football generally increases your chances of winning football games.
 
I would have had Kelly ahead of Kyrgiakos on the bench. The reason is that it gives us an extra tactical option of playing Kelly and Johnson on the right.
