LIVERPOOL v Sunderland (H)

I recently re-watched the Liverpool United highlights and what was the most apparent was how fucking shit Konchesky was all game long. It was a shambolic performance.

But it's not like he can be benched, so...

Ps - If we win 8-0 and results go our way, we will go 4th.

Imagine having a bet on that and it coming off!

I wonder what the odds would be?

We need at least two dms for this one. It is Sunderland afterall. They can score from everywhere. Last sesong they even scored via å beachball. So we must cover up vert cautious on this one.

he'll start lucshit and play cole on the left.

as for konchesky - watch him get bum raped down the left by some nobody winger

I think it will be a cagey first half. Then second half we come out blazing.
12-0

Jinxed it well and truly! I remember reading that in the northampton match thread as well.

oh well im placing my money on a 1-1 (F.T result not e.t)

Now all we need is Everton to suffer some humiliation or other and Sheik to make a thread about it, and we can all prepare ourselves for a dreadfully boring 0-1 with season ending injuries to Torres, Gerrard and Reina.

Like Keni's team but guess it will pretty much all those that didn't play last night so :

------------------ Reina
Johnson -- Carra -- Skrtel -- Konchesky
----------------- Poulsen
--------- Gerrard -- Meireles
Kuyt --------- Torres -------- Cole

If Kuyt isn't fit then I guess Roy will put Maxi in there.

Sunderland have one of the worst away records in the league over the last season or so, and a few 1st teamers out. We will win this easily 3-0.

Nice to playing on a Satday @3pm.

I'd imagine us unlucky Irish Setanta viewers will still have to fucking watch it.

Yup, the Babel sub will change everything.

He still believes, and so do I.

Bent will be licking his lips at the state of our defence.

I just hope Konchesky doesn't play like a inept bellend in this match.

Agreed, I think Bent will score at least one so we need to attack from the off. 3-1 is my predictions

That's a very good side Gene (minus the Jovanovic possibility - replace with Pacheco).

I'd be happy with that.

Sunderland have started well this season and beaten City.

Bent is always a threat and I can see us conceding a goal in this game.

Having said that, we've had a week off in terms of our big players and the likes of Gerrard, Torres, Cole and Raul should be to much for the Cats to handle.

3-1 to us.

I fancy us to finally click into gear this weekend and come out aggressive and attacking.

I think its a bad time to play us, if the players have any sort of respect for the fans they will come out and show their passion for the club.

Wouldnt you want to show the world after this embarassing start to the season? I know I would! What are you men or mice? Stand up and be counted! Ya bunch of overpaid...

Weel they might face a dillema. I.e. Should Glen Johnson bomb down the right and try to double up on the flanks creating defensive problems for Sunderland, as he wants to, or should he hold back trying to create defensive solidity for us as Roy wants? Should Raul and Joe cole seek openings left bu Sunderland players, or focus to stay on the correct side all the time as Roy wants to avoid any chance of Sunderland hitting us at a counter. Should our midfielders go for the tricky passes who can open a defence with a risk of misspassing it, or should they roll it sideways/backwards to ensure we keep it in the team as Roy wants?

Whatever they do they put their own place in the team at risk depending on how clear the caution orders from Roy is. If they try and we dont succeed they will be hung out in the press by Roy as not good enough. The only enefit they have is that they will not be subbed whatever they do during the game.

Why?
[/quote]

When has he gone to the press to 'hang out players' over their performance? Glen Johnson has been caught out of position all season (and last) for being too advanced, Meireles started to create openings in the second half against United and was playing more advanced than Gerrard. I really don't know where you're coming from with all of this. Like your comments about EVERY line up being defensive this season (despite what we put out at City, Arsenal and United), or your comment about him constantly delivering excuses to the press, in the wake of Wednesdays defeat where he openly apologised for his part in our performance.

I really don't know what you're going on about Insig.

Arsenal game- It was the perfect time to face Arsenal. They had 6-7 key players out. We started the game as we has done all games this season, by doing nothing. We were brave in the second half, after the Ngog goal, but we were more brave in defence than in trying to hurt them on their pressure. It is not enough to throw on Torres and say we tried.

Man City game- A shambles performances were we looked like junior players playing a senior team. I dont know if we were defenisve or what we were, we were just poor.

Man Utd game- As for the Arsenal game we tried nothing until a 2-0 goal forced us into changing. As soon as the change paid off and we equalized we fell back again inviting them to take back the momentum. We had a splendid chance to hurt them, but chose not to do it.

You can say a lot of Roy Hodgson, decent man and sensible in interviews, but you he is not a very good match tactician. He has proven good at parking the bus every now and then, but that is not what our squad is about is it?

And he blamed the players for Northampton defeat. He accepted hsi mistake in choosing the players, but he never ever mentioned any selfcritisism to why he didnt do anything tactically for 100 mins even if we played shite.

Addressing this one point. He admitted he fucked up team selection, in doing so he left himself with no real option that could change the game.

However, I'll admit he looked lost, he buried his head in his hands the entire game.

Oh, & Johnson's been a fucking liability this season. I'd be half-tempted throw Kelly in, he deserves it.

Besides, Johnson looks out of shape so perhaps he needs a kick up the arse.

He need a fucking hair cut. What is that rag he is is wearing??

My biggest worry is that Roy will have us sitting deep, even though we are at home and should start the game attacking. We need to put Sunderland under pressure from the 1st minute and show that we want to win.

In nearly every game we have invited the opposition to play football against us, defending deep and "waiting" for them. We can't do that at home, we're Liverpool FC and should be in the driving seat in terms of possesion and chances.

I hope to God that the right team is picked, and that they play some attacking football. If the first 45 mins is as lacklustre as the last couple of games, my patience with Roy is about to run out.

Tell the lads, get going from the start of the game. Attack, attack, attack as the old saying goes.

We don't need Poulsen and Gerrard sitting to deep, we need to be higher up the pitch. MUCH higher. If Roy hasn't got that now, there isn't much hope.
He has a lot to put right, and he better start tomorrow.

I agree with you Hansern. And i just decided I will watch the game with the positive approach that we are on full fire from the start. The leaders in our team will drive the rest to attack Sunderland to pieces!!!!
