Liverpool related transfer speculation

17 and straight into our reserves. Leave him where he is.
Didn't Trent, CJ and Conor break first team? Buy him loan him back to Sunderland. We have the budget of Brighton but we as fans think like we have the budget of PSG. However, even PSG are buying young talent and its paying dividends.
Anyways, let see what this "busy summer" brings, will it be unknowns from far wide, that were ovelooked by the giants or is it mega known signings with price tags to match?

Yeah but we didn't buy them for £40 mill

I see we have been linked with Mitoma from Brighton, 60/70m. Once again a decent player on his day but a bit of a one trick pony, not a great passer either.
Typical Brighton player, then. Brought in to fleece those who can’t be bothered to do their own scouting.

All things considered, I’d say Keïta was Klopp’s worst signing, while Benítez’s biggest balls up was the whole mess involving Xabi Alonso, Gareth Barry, and ultimately the signing of Aquilani.

Keïta has to fairly be seen in the context of being a record-breaking, supposedly transformational signing. We even tied ourselves in knots by agreeing to wait an extra 12 months for him. Then, despite getting very little out of him on the pitch, we dubiously extended his contract—only to eventually lose him on a free. I strongly suspect there was more going on behind the scenes than ever came out publicly. His behaviour in Germany after leaving Liverpool likely reared its head while he was still at the club, too, so I see it as a scouting failure on all levels.

Benítez, for his part, was forced into a punt with Aquilani. He tried to sign the best midfielder he could with the ~£17 million he was given from the sale of Alonso. Aquilani had looked quality in Serie A alongside De Rossi, but the injury record spoke for itself. Klopp took a similar kind of punt on Thiago. I think the key lesson for the club is that players with regular, niggling injuries between the ages of 20 and 24 are very unlikely to suddenly become more robust in later years. Signing them is often just hopium andoverconfidence in our own ability to protect and manage the player that leads us to write the cheque.

Trent, a generational talent at the time, was 18, Bradley was sent on loan until 2022/3 but didn't really break into the team until basically last season, when he was 20 yrs old. Jones was 18 ½ for his PL debut.

Salah will potentially miss 10 games in Dec/Jan due to AFCON. Let’s hope we have that in mind in terms of squad building this summer.

Ideally we'll invest across the forward line, as well as the 9. Who knows, maybe the plan also could be to run the rule over Rio this summer before we invest

create a different thread on the "worst signings", if you are going that far, then El-Hadj Diouf is in the mix. Pure poison even till this day.
"In the mix"?!?!?!? Feck right off with that nonsense, BB... He's the single worst signing this - or perhaps any - club has ever made, regardless of whomever else was poor or perma-injured, or whatever else. He's a horrible, worthless cunt and I genuinely hope he dies screaming.

I'd like to removal cunts of human beings from the options, solely because their problem is their very nature, rather than ability on the pitch

Namely diouf and itandje can get to fuck. They're their own separate breed of twat.

Great now I look racist. Who's a white cunt who's played for us?

I honestly don't think you do look racist. Just as we should never criticise anyone purely because of colour, so (IMO) we shouldn't abstain from doing so for that reason either, and those two were lower than a snake's goolies.

To be fair, they are very good at what they do and their system is for sale via Starlizard. It’s not about scouting, it’s years of data analysis as soon as they pull on a pair of boots.

Well then debates over. El Hadj Douche bag is the worst signing in Liverpool history!

They turned down £70m from the Saudi’s in January, so knowing how they work they will want something similar.
Lest assume the Saudis comeback for Nunez and go for Diaz too what do people reckon we will make in sales this summer
Youngsters
Morton, £15-20m
Gordon, £8m
Ramsey £5m
Doak will probably leave if we get anything north of £20m
Kelleher £30-40m
Nunez £60-75m
Diaz £50-60m
Tsimikas £5-10m
Cheesy £20m

We could make anything from £120-£160m in sales. Add £100m from the kitty. Total summer spend should be around £250m

You can add Harvey to those calculations and Gomez too.
Also, Konate's contract expires next summer. Our modus operandi is to let him leave for free.
Same goes Kelleher.

Harvey, may be. I don't think Gomez is leaving. Konate will resign, he wants £200k a week, eventually I think Hughes will get a deal.

You may be right, but that seems to me to go beyond the available evidence. Gomez and Konate have had their injury probs, Quansah doesn't seem ready for a regular spot yet and I agree with whoever said above that it's worth snapping up good opportunities when they arrive, even if we don't have an immediate need in that position.
