Liverpool related transfer speculation

He's definitely a fun player to watch, but if he's going to join LFC, he'll need to work on his fitness. While he isn't the quickest player, his technique on the ball makes up for it.

We've seen how many times our LBs get chances to create, or get into space or even get into the box and routinely waste those chances. Putting someone performing at a higher level, with greater attacking threat, is a no brainer.

It is annoying that it feels like "we need pace" but Gakpo and Nunez are two of the quickest players in the league. We just aren't playing in a way to exploit those strengths. For Darwin that is mostly because he doesn't know how to stay onside.

Darwin doesn't know a lot of things.

Which century are you living in mate?
No one else spends big on a LB or RB, RM only want Trent coz he is free. I am being serious - and its not backward thinking. I can only recall Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea spending big on LB in the last few years.

Does anyone look at him and want a doner kebab ? - I don't know what it is but that's how he makes me feel whenever I see him play.

Teams that are our most likely rivals spend that kind of money but we shouldn’t?
Most of those have turned out be inconsistent buys at best. I think its a risky area to spend big on - rather we should take a chance on a younger player from another league or even the one below ours. I personally don't think FSG value the LB/RB positions that highly to spend big on those areas. I think the Kerkez deal only happens if there is also a player we want to get rid of to them in an exchange, it won't happen unless that is the case.

Considering during Klopp's squad peak, our FB were the creative outlets. The problem with you @moron is you are never happy if the club spends or doesn't spend.
I'm with you, I am against big money signings (100m+) because if it fails it impacts us huge. Kerkez or Hato will cost £40-50m. I am not 100% convinced by Kerkez but you can bet I want him here way more than Robbo or Tsimikas.
Lets say we spend £90-110m on Hujisen and Kerkez/Hato, then for me we have shored up two positions for a couple of years at least. The RB we can bit more stingy on or even turn badger into a RB.

Fuck me. The ignorance is astounding. And there are probably 50 over £20m.

Fuck me, AWB is the 3rd most expensive fullback in football history?

Current list is:
  1. Gvardiol - €90.00m
  2. Hernández - €80.00m
  3. Hakimi - €68.00m
  4. Cucurella - €65.30m
  5. Cancelo - €65.00m
  6. White - €58.50m
  7. Mendy - €57.50m
  8. Wan-Bissaka - €55.00m
  9. Walker - €52.70m
  10. Chilwell - €50.20m
Transfer Record - Left Backs
Transfer Record - Right Backs

Even those outside the top 10 for respective positions cost quite a far bit though. What are the chances of us spending considerable amount on both LB and RB in the same transfer window?

Coentrao still hanging in there, he's another we tried to sign about 20 times.

I'd say close to 100% as you can get.....it's been about 84 years since we last signed a fullback, we're defo signing the Frim and the Kerk.

I really want to NOT want him, becuase he's obviously a f@#$ing lunatic, but sweet Jesus, for $63m, I'd have to take the risk...

So you can only recall the teams that have won or challenged for the league spending big on full backs?

You want to have a sit down and a wee think about things for a minute?

Dude...City bought Walker from Spurs.

Gotta be honest, when I saw the £45m quoted fee for Kerkez I thought it was a bargain. Was expecting them to push for much more than that. You know like how there's always some crazy headline price as a starting point for negotiations, like £100m for Gibbs-White etc.

£45m for a great PL proven player with 10 years ahead of him, seems more than reasonable. If people are worried about him 'only' being a full back, just imagine what a shit hot young striker would cost. You'd be looking at £100m MINIMUM.

If he came to LFC, it would be most ideal for him to be around someone like Mo. To see the workrate he puts in the gym.

Cherki looks too comfy in being a big fish in a small pond. He needs to be pushed. Talent alone isn't enough unless he's happy to be a Payet-type regen at a mid-table club like West Ham. His ego to be recognised as the best player in the team would either see him become overwhelmed and sink pretty fast here, or put the gym work in to swim.

This is the 2nd mention of Payet I saw today. A bit different context tho

He asked you, you did it, and you're not ashamed, or you felt that was easily solved with a little money. You think this looks bad for him?

You're an ex girlfriend for a reason. Failed wag.
