Liverpool related transfer speculation

Any interest in signing young Kluivert? Could Slot improve him?
Nothing to suggest he will be able to repeat this purple patch, also he is 25 and Bournemouth are likely to want a premium.
Liam Delap is 22, has the physique, pace, power, height and technical skills to be a very good #9 and he can play on the wing too.

Is he good enough to hold down a spot in one of the best teams in the world?
He is a good defensive option off the bench, this would allow Beck to be loaned out to a 1st tier leaguer game to develop. Mitchell is a solid squad option who will cost nothing.

Looks like it could be a big summer of outgoings. Sam Mcguire reporting that we could lose 3 of our fwds in Nunez, Diaz and Jota. Bearing in mind we all think Trent is going, Robbo needs to go, what's your thoughts on Morton, Elliott and Cheesie? None of them look they'll get enough minutes to justify their wages, so do you sell them to add to the budget or keep them to ensure stability and continuity in the squad?

A “good defensive option” for who though - and he has to be more to play for us.

No-one costs nothing - so he has to be better than Robbo or Tsimikas as a minimum otherwise what’s the point.

If he’s not top quality, Slot isn’t going to play him, so he’ll sit on the bench, at best, wasting away.

Also, what does “good defensive option” mean for a top tier team - is he going to be up to keeping the Saka, Dembele’s or Rodrigo’s of this world quiet if he’s not offering an attacking threat?

You’re sort of answering your own question there - continuity and stability of some sort, while refreshing/upgrading where we need to.

There’s no point self-sabotaging for the sake of it.

Also - I disagree that Robbo “has to go” - one of him or Tsimikas “should be moved on”, but Robbo would be a great option to have around while we break in a new younger LB - the work ethic, attitude and experience is worth a lot.

I think you should prepare yourself for Robbo running down his contract and being allowed to leave gracefully on a free. Isn’t the theory he wants to follow mish his career at Celtic?

Slot will need to be mindful not to disrupt a squad that's on course to win the league and go deep in the Champions League. He’s already shown he can set ego aside and work with what he has. If the contract situations remain unresolved, the recruitment team will need to prioritise them and allocate resources accordingly. Ideally, only Trent moves on, allowing the club to focus on strengthening the attack, especially the number nine role, and potentially addressing left-back. Either way, I expect three signings, and one in, one out. Much will depend on the offers we receive, but the club is likely to stick to its policy of refusing to sell below its valuation. The only possible exception is Nunez, who I suspect the club may actively look to move on for whatever fee they can secure. There’s still a significant amount of money tied up in him, and selling now could help recoup funds while avoiding any further add-ons—assuming they haven’t already been triggered.

After tonight.. i think it'd be a good time to create two separate threads.

Liverpool Summer 2025 Incomimgs
Liverpool Summer 2025 Outgoings

Its gonna be a big summer. Let's buckle up or bend over... not sure which one it'll be yet.
nah just leave this thread open, we just shove stuff here. if anything is firm @rurikbird will start a thread.

Nunez is obviously gonna be sacked off to Saudi. No way any European club pays real money for him now.

I think it'll be an unusually busy summer. I don't think they'll address all the possible issues cos there's so many of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the likes of Elliott, Endo, Quansah, Jota, Diaz get replaced as well as the more urgent cases.

Love it. Keep him going forward. Will continue to set the standard in terms of training and attitude. Include him in the leadership group.

NEW: Wataru Endo was slated as one who could leave but that is less certain as the Japan captain is growing into somewhat of a cult hero. Slot loves his attitude and leadership so do not rule out him sticking around as an important squad player.

Its gonna be a very big summer, no doubt. Slot alluding to it and several outlets saying money is not an issue. Slot will definitely put his own mark on this team now.
I feel like we've had this dance before though. Always a big summer, but never truly get what's desperately needed. Even the year we needed a big midfield rebuild, we still had areas we really should have strengthened.

This summer will be huge, mainly because we don't know what the 3 out of contract will do, as well as replacing aging stars and adding depth.

Ideally we need a LB (as Robbo is aging and tsimi may leave), a RB (trents off, need backup for bradley/a starter), a CB (Gomez may leave/forever injured, does slot trust quansah?), a CM (depth, ideally someone who can rotate with grab and Macca), a RW (succession planning for mo/mos replacement) a LW (Diaz replacement?), maybe 2 ST (Nunez to go, maybe Jota)

That's an unreasonable amount of movement. So we'll prioritise. I expect a striker, a left back &right back (who can drop to CB if needed). That might be it

Outgoings I expect a lot however, mainly to streamline developmental pathways.

That's not to say it'll be a bad window. I just think we're going to be pragmatic and boring, but overall that's probably the right way to be

I think we'll definitely sign a striker and a left back, would be amazed if we don't. RB also assuming Trent goes.

I think we'll sign a CB too, and maybe Quansah goes - or Gomez, if someone somehow offers real money for him.

I've got a feeling there'll be one other - maybe Gordon comes in for Diaz, or another MF to compete with Szob or even with Gravenberch. Like Fab said, we won't do all it all, but I still think we'll really go for it and sign 5 or so.
