Liverpool related transfer speculation

That’s what I recall being said about him at Ajax - but people got all excited because he scored a cracking goal against us.

I remember that, but it isn't just that for me. I watched him a few games. He also has that swagger, like he can make stuff happen.
At West Ham, Bowen also plays in his best position, right wing.
But I am not sure about him, if he can actually translate his talent and if that would happen in a better team. A bit like Olise.

At this stage I’m putting Chiesa in the Aquilani category. There might be a good player there but I don’t think we’re ever going to find out.

Poor the Cheesie… he didn’t even get his “hero rises” Gladiator banner like Aquilani… and in the year Gladiator 2 came out as well… poor bastard’s jinxed.

I don't know where Kudos fits in unless Chiesa is going/written off. That reported fee of £85M can get straight into the bin. West Ham have their issues, but he's not playing anywhere near justifying a fee that high.

Any interest in Ania at Forest. He’s available on a free at the end of the season and has had a stellar season so far at LB.

Would have loved KDB 3 years ago.

Schar at Newcastle could do a job as 4th/5th choice CB who is also free at the end of the season

There isn’t a team or group of fans in the world that wouldn’t have loved getting KDB 3 years ago.

Schar’s just turned 33… why bother - waste of time.

As someone else mentioned - Aina’s 29 - we rarely sign players older than 27, so that’s a no too - we’d be complaining his legs have gone and demanding a replacement with 6 months.

Yes, I expect other reinforcements than that position now.

A more interesting issue is how to solve the striker issue, with one with injury problems, the other not good enough.

3 other problems with Aina.

1. The fucking AFCON.
2. Coming 29 you say… are we sure?
3. Most importantly… his name rhymes with vagina… that’s just too easy…

… although he might link up well with Lavia?

Then we’d have to either keep the shit one or broken one. Neither can be relied upon to support the new 9.

Or we buy two and that would mean Danns has no path here.

Makes most sense to sell Darwin and buy a first choice, and try to patch Jota up so that he can be the main back up.

Bloke I used to work with is a W.Ham fan and goes to see them when they play away games in the Midlands. In his view Kudus is overrated - plenty of potential, and sometimes of actual product, but too unreliable too often.
Sounds like some of the Mane reviews prior to us buying him.

It's disappointing. I thought we finally had a backup for Salah.
Slot keeps mentioning his fitness issues for about 4 months. A pre season is about a month long. Something isn't right and it seems like Chiesa isn't mentally ready to play for LFC.

This transfer window is turning out to be a shit show isn't it ? - no confirmation on our 3 boys at all - it is pretty bad situation we are in. It's always something with this club when you just might have hope that things are looking good:-

1) Klopp comes to bring us success - we achieve some greatness but seem to just fall behind City
2) We win the league only for an act of God in that same season with COVID to make the win feel sub-standard
3) Real Madrid luck
4) Sign a great player in Tiago - who then becomes never available.
5) Now we have a tactically aware manager with traits of Klopp and when we look like the best in the world - 3 of our World Class players are soon to be out of contract.

Nothing works well for us does it ? - fuck this.

I’m fine with a 34 year old experienced PL CB as 4th/5th choice cover.

I'll be surprised if a Jota sale is even considered. New regime and all that, but it would be a shift in approach.

How many of us were pleading to sell Chamberlain, Thiago, Matip and Keita at various points? All left on a free.

I’m not - you’d get a season at most - if we are going to have a 5th choice, we’d be as well bringing Phillips back or at least bringing in a younger player that could cover different positions.

Badger can play CB, FB, DM & MF - rather give him a a go.

Why a season at most? Many CB’s play til 36.
