Liverpool are poised to raid Sunderland and try to sign their academy starlet Trey Ogunsuyi, 18.

The Premier League leaders have made a habit in recent seasons of poaching talented teenagers from fellow English clubs, with the likes of Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo signed from Chelsea, Leicester and West Ham respectively.

And Mail Sport understands they have kept an eye on Sunderland forward Ogunsuyi, a prolific forward who can play across the front line.

The Black Cats kid has scored eight goals in seven appearances this term and has featured on the bench for Regis Le Bris’ senior side, who are flying in the Championship.

He is also a Belgian youth international and first-team boss Le Bris described him as a ‘very interesting player for the future’.
