Hello Guys and Girls
Well Just to let you all know That Yesterday the Day of THE GREAT NORTH RUN,In the pissing down rain was a success.

We both completed the most gruelling course above our scheduled times
2 hours 5 mins and 2 hours 36 mins respectively(only for that piss grrr)

THE RACE STORY:

Gary And Myself took to the Streets along with 54,000 other brave ppl in the cold and pissing down Rain and was like that for all 13.1 Miles we endured but along the way you have say the People on the streets paid there Parts urging you on step by step, metres by metres and Mile after Mile,Offering you ice lollies/biscuits/sweets and there there own bottled water, even men on bus stops with hoses from there houses to hose you down(not that we needed it in the pissing down rain),on 10 miles a guy wth 4 crates a carling was either winding us up or a geordie way of sayin have a bevvie on ya way lads(i was tempted btw).

Took us 40 mins to get to the start for our chips to kick in,

Then TEAM LIAM WERE UNDER WAY..
Our designated time was 3 hours to complete the BIGGEST HALF MARATHON IN THE WORLD,With lots of steep hills on the way were we knew was goin take its toll on are weary Legs.

First 4 miles were fine, then one hell of an hill, and not only me legs feelin it as 1st mile was 6 mins the 2nd 9,i need a piss big time as we were about to go over the Tyne Bridge only place to piss was in the river lol,I told Gary go ahead so he kept to time, and catch him up till got to toilets and water station number 1.

Trying Find Gary, was trying to find Lord Lucan so plodded on kept in touch via txt on the way,6 miles come and i though almost half way soaking wet through, people around you starting to walk(which was a bit annoying as was a game of dodge ball to over take them)

7 miles,8 miles,9 miles(Now legs Pain are kicking in burning hurtin and proper pain pain pain, water stations, powerade stations to rehydrate,Ambulances splitting you in 2 groups while going ahead to tend to injured ahead,Then come the 10th Mile which tells you That you have just entered South Shields,People from sides shouting you nearli there keep it up well done etc etc and then gang cheeky kids only 3 to go keep going (all needed to bloody hear hehe),passed a maccie ds of all places (bet loads went in lol),nice smells of burgers.

11th mile went sunny for about 30 secs then the heavens opened again, got to 12th and thought come on 1.1 to go keep going, still no sign of Forrest Gump,Yay nearly over then a major steep hill comes why near the end of pain pain pain you wicked people, then little hill down and i thought thank the lord only to be met by another one,Turned a corner and seen the Sea(what ya could for rain that is still pouring down),Then a sign as you turned Left Bend on it saying Nearly there(yes come on),nearly there my arse I was expecting to se the line and one final push and sprint,no again cruel, cruel, cruel on our legs the organisers, was 1200 metres, then 800 metres then cos rain couldnt see any further and i thought taking the piss now, from 800 metres to 400 was like an eternal, and even more from 400 to 200,,but with 1000s packed cheering you on,then i sore that finish line wit th clock on and thought yes yes yes

TEAM LIAM'S MISSION WAS ACCOMPLISHED

Met Gary at finish Line ,Freezing cold both of us like many 1000s,got our chips off then went to get oour well earned goody Bag and Precious BUPA GREAT NORTH RUN MEDAL

Liams Mum and Dad were at the finish line cheering us on and were so proud of us

Asked were we goin do it again next year by local media i said look my legs what you think lol,but YES WE ARE GOING DO IT for The Liam Harker Memorial Fund in memory of Liam

Pics are on following page of what i could take on the way as running, along with our medals etc etc
