how did assaidi get along? missed game, but see he was subbed.

I thought he did quite well, he looked a bit unfit but he broke well a few times, looked quick, good feet and was unlucky with one chance where he cut inside, took on a player, worked his way into the box and shot with power just shy of the upright. He looks decent and has a good powerful shot,.

Enrique seems like someone who isn't willing to learn and correct his mistakes.
I'm not at all worried about his defensive work but he needs to improve his decision making and I bet Rodgers have told him this.

I think some of his defensive work is terrible Modo, he fucked up a few times tonight 'again' by over elaborating as he does, trying to do too much. He needs to learn when to keep it simple and he needs to learn how to cut out a cross, he struggled with it last season and is doing so again.

Yep, he's the Peter Beagrie of defenders

What I mean is that he more often than not wins the ball with ease, what does afterwards is what bothers me.

Yeah, his body strength and ability to hold off a player is great, I just feel at the minute that half the time it seems like that's all he's got in his locker. His forward play has been a bit better of late, funnily enough.

Agreed.

I don't understand what's going on with enrique, he looked the buy of the season when we first got him, when he had a couple of shit games i assumed it was just a temporary slump, but he just hasn't recovered for a long time.

Yes, and it's ironic he keeps saying how Rodgers' style of play comes so naturally to him, because he looks like it's a mystery to him.

Enrique was embarrassing and Sahin was anonymous.

Borini and Shelvey came on and change the match. Impressed with them to. Apart from that, I didn't see much to get excited about. Wisdom looked like the player who could be good enough, but realistically he's got little chance at forcing his way past Skrtel, Agger, Kelly and Johnson.

Fun game though.

Agree with most of that but didn't think Sahin was totally anonymous. He showed a few good touches and passes but is clearly not match fit. Don't reckon we'll see anywhere near the best of him this side of December

Im really starting to believe the Shelvey hype! He should be playing instead of Gerrard...

Ha, I'm so pleased with this post. You've constantly being saying you don't get the hype. I've sat there thinking he'll see it. It will eventually smack him in the face.

The fan club is shut. Theres a bandwagon for those who want to recant their poor judgements of Jonjo

Nope, I've been noting who views the man negatively; those will not be admitted. But those who haven't swung one way or the other are still welcome to change their mind. I prefer a logical thinker, I don't mind a person who doesn't believe it until they see it with in their own eyes. That said. this club closes at #33.

Sahin had a good game. He'll just get better and better aswell. Fantastic with the ball at his feet.

Interesting game, good to see our young ones have a go. But most of that game was utter shite and it was going to be that way given the changes and all, with all these different players taking part. Invidivudally that guy Suso looked good today, and Shelvy looked good and got the team playing properly when he came on and a class above the rest. I do hate it when the manager puts together an entire team that have never played together before, the football lookes so disjointed and ugly.

Yeah just seen that, IMO Brad Jones had no right rushing out for their first goal, but Enrique didn't do himself any favours either. Great corner whipped in by Sahin and as someone else mentioned, a Sol Campbell-like leap and well-directed header from Wisdom. Coates standing at 6'6" shouldn't really be getting beat in the air as he did for their second, but made up for it by knocking the ball back into a dangerous area and made his own luck as it fortuitously sailed into the back of the net. For Young Boys third, there was some suspect defending from Sahin before we were carved open like a tin of sardines but in fairness it was well punished with an exquisite finish. Lovely, composed play for our 4th, credit to Borini, Henderson and Shelvey, and it was superb movement by Borini met with a thunderous shot from Shelvey with his weaker foot for the final goal.

Ok, gay or not. Stick me in there.

Yep, he's always seems a little off to me, sure there has always been potential, but I have always thought he was a bit more raw than you've thought. However this season he's really grown and matured as a presence on the pitch, the presence, almost authority he seems to have is quite a rare trait, it's something which is a bit Gerrard about him, it's great to see. He's certainly grown quicker than I imagined this season, if he can cut out those silly challenges and keep growing, he'll be some player, and he'll be it really quite soon.
