LFC v Chelsea

Yes and No. Definitely a positive, but well, doesn't erase what went before. nice to see AC on fire.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Chelsea if they aren't in the Champions League next season, because I don't think a lot of those players are there for the love of the club and Mata last year said he wanted to join a club in the CL.

How shit was Torres again eh?

And people were telling me 'he's back.' He still has that 'class' about him, but what he had here I don't think he'll ever have anywhere. It's not against him, everything just clicked here for him.

I think this win just convinced me that Kenny should be given another year.

I am curious as to why ONE game swung things, especially when Chelsea were so bad.

Some signs of hope for the coming season there. A beasty Suarez and Carroll combination being the most important.

This is what would happen:

Mata: "I want to leave"
Chelsea: "Tough shit"

We saw the kind of pass and move we've been striving to play all season tonight. There were always players in space, everybody wanted the ball, intelligent movement everywhere. More of this please, Reds.

While I agree, I still worry about Carroll's instincts. He doesn't find himself in the box enough. To make those successful though, we need to play a 4-2-3-1 with the 3 being Suarez and 2 attacking players (Gerrard & a big signing). The two will be Lucas and another midfielder (big signing hopefully), who can disrupt play and create. I think the key to next season is spending our money wisely on first 11 quality, moving Hendo/Adam/Downing etc to the bench and using the kids as further back ups.

I was a little worried by the emotional look on Suarez's face at the end. If I was looking for signs of players who knew they were leaving, his expression was the most like one I'd notice the most. And I see on the Beeb footy website that he's been doing an awful lot of waving to the crowd. Hopefully it's just recognition of how they have stood by him.

You make Dreamy seem optimistic mate. I just hope you're happy in life because you always look for something bad .. It's crazy.

We always manage to turn it on a bit once everything is lost..

We obv never got near that performance level whilst shit still mattered

I really enjoyed that... shame we didnt get 6 agin the fucking dirtbags but.... yeah.... nice.

Lovely finish from Shelvey, not an easy chance that, and Carroll is indeed looking beastly at the minute, 8 months late but better than never. When i saw the teamsheets i thought they might give us a very tough game, having only rested 3 players....

I do fear for them against Munich.... Oooh i think we may well enjoy that...

Incidentally the commentator, i didnt bother remembering his name, needs someone to shit in his letter box.

The night would have been perfect if Sterling had scored on that shot ... The kid needs to have some sort of role next year - bring him on in the 75th minute of every game we're up by 2 goals or more, or when we're down by a goal and need some spark.

There was fuck all to it Mystic. He grabbed Ivanovic round the throat a bit, something we've all wanted to do at some stage.

He also made a somewhat dubious attempt at kicking the ball behind him which looked more like a disguised lunge at Ivanovic's thigh. It didn't go unnoticed by the commentators.
