LFC v Chavski match thread

If it was just Mark, I could agree. But it wasn't

Threads descended in to blah fests because of his posting style. For Modo it became more of a martyr style position, against the oppressive masses.

I think the simplest solution at the moment is to drop Henderson. He's been awful for a while now. I was strongly behind giving him the vice captaincy but since he got it he's played more like he did in his first year than the form he showed last year. I wonder if it's taking him a while to step into the new shoes and adjust to the weight of responsibility, just as it did when he arrived.

I'm pretty sure this was more or less my counterargument to you suggesting Henderson as the new Vice-Captain going back a few months.

It was obviously all conjecture at the time, but we're legitimately getting backed into a corner now where we almost have to start him every match.

I think you're greatly underestimating the impact your moderators getting easily wound up has on threads. I would estimate it's around 85% of the abuse he was getting at this stage, which is flawed for a number of reasons.

If you don't make changes, you're going to be down this road every time a moderator disagrees with someone, as this will inevitably happen again. But as is the case with the hivemind, you won't get a whole lot of people upset about Modo getting banned as he disagreed with most everybody at some stage.

It's also a bit funny from my point of view considering you went to bat for Rosco when he was actually riling up most of the board with his posts a few months back. Posts that I'm sure you also disagreed with at the time.

I don't know. I didn't see Modo as a major problem, because, mercifully, I just found it fairly easy, most of the time, to ignore him. But he really was pushing for a reaction, it was almost as if he wanted a ban. Not a permanent one, but a breather. Some people can pull back and give themselves a break. The odd one needs to get someone to shut them up. It was probably a mixture of boredom and depression with how the season is going. Modo doesn't have the slightest trace of whimsy or playfulness in his nature, so it wasn't as if he was ever going to distract himself with a bit of a giggle. Hopefully he'll come back in a calmer state of mind. But I've every sympathy with the mods, Modo was high maintenance, like a hamster that shit all over the cage every day. It wasn't evil. It was just a case of, 'Oh for christ's sake, more shit'.

Modo aside; the issue of bans on this site has always been ridiculously managed. (I should know).

On the one hand, you can be insanely fucking stupid and destroy the momentum of just about any thread with your continued moronic shite and yet be allowed to carry on regardless - almost out of sympathy, yet Modo (and others) can be banned for constantly winding people up. Where's the logic in that?

Modo adds something to this site, and I daresay those who moaned and complained about him (which led to this banning) are the same people who fucking moan about everyone else who's ever been banned.

It's an internet forum, with adults. Grow the fuck up. If you don't like what someone's saying, tell them to fuck off or ignore them.

new manager in another 5year plan we will rise again another leauge cup win and a strong league showing the masses will proclaim that Liverpool are back rinse and repeat

Everybody "adds something to the site". Modo unfortunately balances that out by being a very skilful wind-up merchant. The ban is spot on.

Yes, I did remember our discussion when I posted that. Whatever the reason behind his loss in form, I still think Henderson was the right choice for the vice captaincy. He'd earned it more than any other player. Once he found his feet here, he flourished. I'm sure he will again, particularly when the rest of the team gets its act together.

As for being backed into a corner to start him - I don't agree. Vice captains (and indeed captains!) should be subject to the same scrutiny as everyone else, if not more so. If he's not playing well, he shouldn't be playing. Besides, you were suggesting Kolo for vice captain, and it's not like he was ever going to play regularly, is it?

Modo and I got along fine - and I liked him - but that doesn't mean I didn't see a nice long list of posters complain to us ... But I think people - this goes for all of us - who cannot deal with posters, either take less interest in the site (not saying this to ANYONe in particular - I do it myself!) or just put the person on ignore.

If it's a mod, arrange a coup ... Koptalk did it, why can't SCM? 😉

7 day ban is fair. He has been warned a few times.

Gives him time to reflect, Calm the fuck down and come back refreshed. Some time a break is as good as a rest.. It is true @Modo adds something to the site, and it would be a loss to lose him Permanently.. That being said he was acting the cunt, so the ban hammer came out..

Permanent ban is only for repeat offenders, spammers and knob heads..

(Awaits can't you ban yourself then reply)

Good modding @Fabio..

I don't think there should be bans unless it's for aggressive or offensive behaviour, a seven day ban is okay I suppose, but everyone is provided with two ignore functions, one on the site, and one in the brain, that should be more than enough. The real tragedy is that whenever we go on a horrendous run of form like we're currently on, a situation like this always arises. This isn't a moan at the mods, I sympathise with your position, you aren't paid to listen to grow men bitch like teenagers, I just think it's a shame that this situation has happened.

Of course it is, but who's to decide what's offensive if not the mods? I for one reckon any poster constantly pushing buttons which he knows to be inflammatory qualifies 100% for that description. Nor BTW do I think the "Use the ignore button" argument is a strong one - doing that can make any discussion bitty and frustrating to follow. It's an absolute last resort, but with Modo you'd be doing it at least half the time he "contributes" to a thread.

Has anyone commented on Mingolet kicking out the ball for a corner to Chelsea with his last kick of the game??

It was horrendous. The ref blew the full time whistle and saved his blushes.

Quite. And that's yet another reason why it makes one wonder why so many passes go back to Mignolet to boot upfield, because he couldn't hit a long ball on target even if he had the time to compose himself.
