Agree. It depends on who you ask ... and I'm trying to stay away from that conversation!
If I thought we could take the team to the next level, I'd say sell him but we'd probably end up hurting the team further so pointless
At least three things here:
Fabs weak attempt to tackle. Take the yellow, lad.
And Gomez WTF...when are you going to make a stand?!!?
And we are sooooo stretched here.
His game seems now to be more balanced as a provider and he does seem to have eye for a killer pass. It maybe Jota and Gakpo who benefit most from this.
Personally I would take a decent offer on Diaz or Jota if we get it, he’s 26 and not sure he has the potency required and use that to rebuild. Personally would now keep Jota as long as he can remain fit.
I have to admit, it is continual factor for us to wonder when to sell our best players to improve us on the long term. Feels like out of top 8, only Brighton seem to really face the financial realities as us but their model built on it. It’s a bit sad really.
This last ¼ didn't necessarily demonstrate a major upturn in form (maybe just a little with TAA's midfield transition and some players settling into the team). I said way back that 'on paper' we shouldn't lose any of the last 11 games and that run 'could' take us back into the Top 4 depending on the form of United/Newcastle. The litmus test will be when we play games we definitely could lose - and don't.Last quarter of of the season had us on track to win the title. Hopefully we can bring in the players needed to reignite the high standards over an entire season again.
And Villa I think? You mean apart from the bit where City got more points than us over the last 10 games?
😀
Well Klopp let Gini and Mane go and was right in both instances. There must be others he's let go too. This is where forward planning, not sentiment, come in. We had some pretty ruthless managers back in our heydays who saw the decline in a player before most and moved him on. The question is, is the decline because of systemic issues we have in other areas?
"Salah isnt a provider" but finished as the second best player in the league in terms of assists, 12.
That doesnt make much sense. The Salah discussion is certainly one I wont be involved in this summer. He's here to stay for next season regardless.

"eye for killer pass"? We had a 4 on 3 yesterday with players in far better positions, and he went for the shot and apologized afterward.
I don't see him as a provider all as he's such a hit or miss passer, and will mostly (& rightly so) prioritize the shot when it's that or pass (say unlike Bobby, or it seems Gakpo). He needs to play central as he struggles to beat his man more and more and with that, he's become easier to push out of games despite his work rate (still really good) & how often he touches the ball.
As for selling JOta or Diaz - I think Jota is our best goalscorer after Mo - unless we get a ridiculous offer AND have a potential replacement (or top notch midfielder), I'd be very worried about selling ...
As for your closing statement - but that's how this team was built. Not selling Coutinho means we likely don't win the league or Europe ... I'm fully ok with this if it's done properly - we just will never be City or Newcastle unless we sell our souls.
Calm down, Salah topic really does get some people going…
You pick out opportunities where did’t pick the right option but seem to dismiss “killer assists” like yesterday and against Villa.
I don’t expect even Elite player to get it right 100%, just not going to happen.
Also, this scenario isn’t same Coutinho and Coutinho wanted to go, was younger, they over paid by over 100% possibly and we had a system and players already around who could step up at the time. I don’t see the same this time out.
I'm calm mate - all good.
You will miss him when he’s retired.
Didn’t think Hendo would be so pants this season even with less games, big drop off…
You watched yesterday ... how many times did you say "pass mo" and he took a stupid shot or got owned by KWP?
I guess it's obvious why I rarely talk about this subject (though I was unable to post about it a bit today) ... Unless you follow the "Mo is the same Mo who frightened the living shit out of every defender and manager, and there's no issues whatsoever you Mo haters!!!!," you get into this black or white discussion, with zero nuance.
So to sum it up.
If we could somehow get better by selling him, I'd be a-ok to sell him.
If not, I'm not ... and as I have zero faith in our ability to sign players as has the case pre Thiago off season, we keep him until he leaves on a free or something.
And finally, you convinced me - he's a great provider, on par with De Bruyne or prime Gerrard, and would have 20 assists every season if our team played more to his strengths.
No more Mo posts for me - I'm done until he scores 50 next year and you can shove it down my throat! 🙂
Hmmmm, does it have to be a black and white issue?
You will miss him when he’s retired.

He's become such a poor defender. He can't defend at all. I wonder when Klopp and his team is going to realise that. It's mind blowing to see him run around scared and clueless game after game pretending to be defending.TF is Gomez going?
It's like he's running a race. That gap never closes.
He would have run into the net if that shot never came.
You mean apart from the bit where City got more points than us over the last 10 games?
😀
Wouldn't have mattered if we repeated that form for the first 28 games. We’d have been too far ahead.
Absolutely useless defender.TF is Gomez going?

We can discuss all we like - however none of those three are going anywhere this Summer. Ditto Matip, Elliot and Thiago. And yes with Milner, Ox, Melo & Keita leaving (Carvalho too now it seems) then we'll need to cover them so Bajcetic & Doak come in and we'll buy at LEAST 2 established, as in 1st team ready, players. No, but it is.
I'd rather discuss if we think Diaz can take the next step next season ... unsure.
or if Darwin can take a huge step and be more consistent ... unsure.
or if JOta can stay healthy and score 20+ goals ... unsure.
if we'll sign 2 midfielders at minimum .... unsure.
