Klopp speaks about return to coaching

The Dalglish appointment was all about PR and to please the fans. Carroll the same. FSG care a lot about PR. Rafa was available when FSG appointed Dalglish so a suitable replacement was available but they couldn't take the risk appointing him because a lot of fans at that time hadn't forgotten his last season.

Much as I like Rafa hiring him a year after he was sacked by Liverpool would have been ridiculous.

I get a bit misty eyed when I think about when the King returned. He did ok as well. I used to love his pressers.

On this forum his dealings with the press were lauded at the start of his tenure & denigrated by the end

In fact there was a similar pattern with Rafa

Why do some fans care about what the manager say in the pressers? Almost everyone will lie to protect themselves, the players and the club. You will never know when they tell the truth or not. As long as the manager isn't damaging the club then it is ok.

Almost only the results on the pitch matters. If Rodgers acted like a complete idiot in the pressers and we won the league then we would say that he is funny and intelligent but if we lose and he acts in the same way then we would say that he is an idiot.

It is much more important that he is fair and honest to the players. If he isn't then it won't matter how good tactician he is because the players won't play for him. He will lose the dressing room.

The problem with winding up the press is that there's an inevitable backlash and the club negatively portrayed. You can only get away with it when you're successful as no-one gives a shit about anything else when winning.

Why don't you show a little bit of respect. Yes, we know your opinions. Yes, we know you're perfectly entitled to them. But there's absolutely no need for that shit!

As you say I'm entitled to say it, so I will. Likewise the pro Rodgers camp are entitled to their opinion.

Actually, no one is entitled to their opinion, they are only entitled to what they can argue for.

So, if you can't put a good argument as to why Rodgers should be sacked then you're shouldn't open your mouth. And if you resort to disrespectful name calling then you've lost the argument.

Agreed.

I just want the new guy in to get some new material to insult him with.

Only so many teeth whitening gags to go round.

What utter garbage. Plenty of aforementioned reasons why we should get rid.

Come on FSG you know it makes sense, approach the man and sack that piece of shit we currently have
Really? That's hardly a constructive argument and I'm not sure why I'm giving you air time by replying.

He's the current incumbent, and whilst we should always be looking for improvement, surely it's preferable to have constructive debate rather than the constant stream of abuse you give him. We get it, you don't want him. It's been heard. The abuse is now boring.

I'm sure that wouldn't be necessary if we get a half decent manager in, I'm sure they would be a success. Plenty out there that we could have got and still should go for.

Ha ha ha, so the ill-informed and those that can't articulate an argument other than insults should be entitled to throw out abuse?

You had some good arguments to get rid of Rodgers but others have put equally good arguments for him to stay. You don't see them hurling disrespectful abuse...

I take it you've been a victim of that dantes.

No, I was quite shy, which served me well by instinctively steering clear of such things for fear of looking like a twat. Rodgers and Klopp have no such reservations.

Not ill informed if you take a look at our form, tactics, signings over the past three seasons. No need to go over the reasons again, just quite like showing my dislike for Rodgers; however annoying you all may find it.

Yeah lads leave him alone he has played the game to a high level and he's also a physio so we need to take his opinion and take it to the bank.
His mate Roger told me.

Klopp has worked under Sporting Director Michael Zorc while a t Dortmund.
If Klopp was available we should get him and a top notch Dof. Fuck off that committee and do it the way FSG wanted in the first place.

Dislike of the man is one thing, and you're defo not alone on this forum in harbouring it, but calling Rodgers or anybody else a "piece of sh!t" is something else entirely. Anybody would deserve to be picked up on that.

There's not really (from other posters yeah, but never from you in a million years). You just repeat the same abuse and vitriol over and over. Your actual reasonable posts are few and far between, enough people are picking up on it and even your reply here couldn't avoid opening with an OTT response to a reasonable question - "What utter garbage".

Should we direct everyone to your profile page to read your recent postings? Thought not.

People would reason with you if you didn't resort to pathetic nonsense like "he's a piece of shit", "he's a twat". And for the record, the pro Rodgers camp might back him against some of the more venomous criticism, but I don't read anyone calling him infallible or brilliant, that's just more exaggerated nonsense to justify your end. Quit it or take a break from here.

Rodgers is a piece of shit, and a twat. And I'm sick of people calling him brilliant or infallible

I was just thinking that this forum has so closely scrutinised and identified Rodgers' shortcomings that it's become redundant for each and every critic to have to embark on an essay to accompany each post calling him a "piece of shit". Just treat that and like comments as shorthand for "a poor manager for all the reasons this forum has set out again and again".

Call him a sh!t manager then if that's your view. That's still a very different matter from calling him personally a piece of sh!t. Do we really want discussions on here to scrape such splinters from the bottom of the barrel, or to get this blasé about it when they do?

Oh it's an internet forum for heaven's sake, not some intellectual think tank exclusively open to the articulate. Not all of us are silver tongued like you are. And besides, only the most finicky could mistake the name calling of someone like Mr Moo to be the most literal expression of his regard for Rodgers' character.

"Not all of us" etc, says a lawyer. And I simply don't agree with the "finicky" bit, nor (I suspect) would those who have "liked" the post you're referring to.

That's alright, I can accept a contrary view to mine, since this isn't a race for endorsement of my, or the opinions of any other poster.

If Klopp does come how long you reckon it will be before he's regularly called a piece of shit / twat by loads of people on the internets? First defeat? Second? First draw? When he subs Coutinho off in his first match? We should have a sweep.

Well before we do can we differentiate between a piece of shit and hopelessly out of his depth

Well Moo did the same with Dalglish, so its odds on he'll be a twat by two months in and he'll have a Chistmas deadline around his neck thanks to Jono.
