Spider,

Who would you trust more with 50m.

Benitez or Jose?
rafa has bought = alonso, torres, pepe - pure quality

jose has bought = drogba, essien, carvalho - pure quality

I rate their eye for talent as roughly the same
Yup I think those 6 players just about some up the combined 12 years of transfer activity perfectly.

'King Jose' is no doubt one of the top managers in world football, no question. But then we already have a top manager in world football, one who is loyal and committed to boot.

The 'Special One' would not risk his special reputation managing Liverpool, who don't have a brass farthing to challenge for anything of note. I also have a problem hiring short term managers. That would take the club down a road that I feel would change the very nature of our club.

Jose is also a cunt of the highest order.
No need mate, you've done it so succinctly.
I'd also add that I think a fair barometer of Rafas prefered playing style over the last 6 years are the 8-0 vs Besiktas, The 4-0 vs Madrid and the 6-1 against hull.

Here's just a few of Jose's flops:

Mourinho coming would convince Torres to stay.
What Gene said.

The last time we looked for a manager we were looking a manager who had won something in recent times.

At that time, Rafa and Jose were considered because they had won something of significance consistently.

This time round, I can't think of many names except Jose (again) and Guardiola.

That's the thing, we have to get a WINNER in, not someone whom we just *think* can win us a title.

When Mourinho won the Champions Legue with Poto against Monaco I reckon the quality of that tournament was pretty much equal of the Europa League of this Season.

So whomever wins that trophy this time around would be a good bet.

Step up Rafael Benitez.

Or Roy Hodgson.

Most of those 'flops' have league medals now.

There are also a few I still wish we'd signed or who I think are/were better than players we currently have playing in their positions.

Mikel is a decent player. Certainly not a flop, while not pulling up any trees. Mourinho clearly didn't want Shevchenko, like Keane with Benitez. Arf!

I certainly wouldn't trust Benitez with £50 million to spend if recent catastrophic transfer windows are anything to go by. I don't see how anybody would want him to. The last time he got something right was 3 years ago. And that's because of Torres alone.

What, so you're saying that Abramocunt's influence on the transfers and team had no influence on Mourinho leaving, and that Parry's influence at Liverpool was similar re: Keane?

Because if you ARE saying that, you're a fucking moron.

No I'm saying Mourinho didn't want Shevchenko. But some smartarse will counter act that by saying Rafa didn't want Keane.

jose probably didn't want sheva but he didn't exactly make the best use of him when he was there so that still counts as a flop imho.
