I love old Neil though i really do. No one NO ONE in the world has so many footballing opinions counter to mine but hes such a good sport i cant help but love him. I mean look just now, i called him a flid and he ended up apologising.
The daft fucking flid.

To use monsieurdantes marvellous analogy, many people on here like Neil and Rafa4pm, want to keep drinking the piss.
I wont even try to deny that one big reason I don't want rid of rafa (yet) is because who we replace him with is a real concern. that's only natural surely?

'This just in Bob. In a stunning admission of guilt Spider neil admitted drinking his own urine. When questioned by our roving reporter Gene Hughes about drinking the urine, he replied and i quote Bob 'Its only natural surely'
Now heres carol with the weather.'

I don't post to be purposly contrary I post what I belive and the truth is I couldn't care less who agrees with me unlike many who get sweep along with the wave of opinion like lemmings. when we were in an almighty slump last winter I felt we'd pull out of it even though the majority wanted rafa out, we then went on an amazing run battering everyone in our path. nothing to do with 'being right or wrong' I just believed we'd get out of it and I believe that now, I'm not going to go against what I believe for fear of ridicule. I'm 100% convinced rafa will get another season we'll see how it pans out.

You'd genuinely choose Rafa over Mourinho?

Have you joined SoS?

Yer i would, i don't care how good Mourinho is, he's not a Liverpool manager, i don't want a manger who acts like they way he does managing us
You're so right, Kris...thats exactly why Rafa was chosen over Mourinho.

And it's worked out so well.

I must say tho, that I've never seen a thread where the apologists prove their idiocy quite so emphatically.

Rebel's return has clealry been wondrous.

I almost want jose to come here to see how far he gets with limited funds and opposition teams whose riches far out exceed his own. he'll struggle and when he does he'll be off like shot.

Here's just a few of Jose's flops:

Khalid Boulahrouz Hamburg £7m
John Mikel Obi Lyn £16m
Andrei Shevchenko AC Milan £30.8m
Shaun Wright-Phillips Manchester City £21m
Scott Sinclair
Asier Del Horno Athletic Bilbao £8m
Jiri Jarosik CSKA Moscow £4.83m
Tiago Benfica £8m
Mateja Kezman PSV Eindhoven £5m
Paulo Ferreira £13m
Quaresma £15m
Mancini £13m
A good chunk of them are Arnesen signings.
I dont think hes saying wanting rafa out makes you a flid. Just that you lot (Rafa4pm and Mamma mia excluded) consistently make yourself look like flids.
go on then, in what way? you mean like your fantastic spending post listing rafa sales and purchases where in the wonderful world of oncey no player ever wants to leaves liverpool, no players wants first team football and no player is ever in decline so needs moving on.

or how about the wage bill topic that gets conveniently sweep under the carpet every time its raised because in the real world massive wages makes absolutely no difference whatsoever in attracting top players.

or what about the competition where in the same league is a manager with 20 plus years of experience, 12 plus years of experience and a team that have over inflated the market with spending the likes of which has never been seen in this country.

the rafa defense may be myopic but the people that attack rafa are equally as blinkered.
So one of your defences of Rafa is that there are other better managers in the league and that's why we can't win it ?

No just you. Look, we're shit at the moment. You'd be an idiot to think he's doing a good job. And I can't see how he's ever going to turn it around. I think he should go. He needs it and we desperately need it.

What did you think of that bench tonight? What did you think when Degen came on? When El Zhar came on? Not just the personnel, the fact that he has signed these duds, but the timing of these substitutions and the implications?

The squad is exactly where it was when he took over - utterly dependant on two players.

I know I should get away from this thread, but it's like a car crash. I can't help but look.

Krissr,

Have you ever heard a top. top player come out and say anything other than "Our boss is boss", when they're still at the club..?

Judas and Goldenballs never bitched about Ginsoak, even though it's come out since that their relationships were not good at the end... Do you REALLY expect SG or Pepe, maybe our two strongest characters in that dressing room to come out and call him a cnut? Or Kenny? Seriously..? The fact that they're all toeing the corporate line doesn't mean that they believe it. Chairman's vote of confidence, anyone? They're always EXACTLY what the club needs, until the second they're fired.

Also, because Wenger said something doesn't mean that it's automatically so... He's NOT done a good job here for the past two seasons or more (since CL final 2007 for me) and if Jesus Christ himself comes down and says "He's great", I'll STILL ask Him what exactly he's looking at when it comes to 2008 - 2010...

The fact that he HAS done a good job for us initially, at the front end of his career here doesn't mean that he STILL is. 'Cos he's not.

I'm not gonna go into how much we've spent, been there and done it, but to be honest mate, do you genuinely believe that if we hadn't had such bad luck and injuries this season, we would still still be in the same position ? every team gets injuries but we've had alot more than most

Torres - missed alot of games
Aurelio 1st choice left back last season - out for most of the season
Gerrard missed alot games as well - and been mostly awful when he has played
Skrtel and Agger - constantly picking up injuries all season
Johnson - out for a couple of months
Riera - criticising the manager
Aquilani - even when he came back, he was out for a few games due to bein injured

That's Aurelio, Torres, Gerrard, Johnson, Riera, Skrtel, Agger, Aquilani all not being able to play most weeks

I agree to an extent, he has been unlucky. He has been unlucky in general in parts this season. Beachball etc...

But Benitez is in charge of a squad that can't cope with injuries to one or two players - ie Gerrard and Torres. We should be better than that. 6 years ago we were fucked if we lost Gerrard or Owen.

With regards to some of those players, DON'T sign injury prone players. Aquilani was injured for half of the season when we signed him. Massive mistake, as good a player as he may be. His career average was 17 games a season or something ridiculous. Not worth the punt for a precious £20 million. Same to a lesser extent wth Aurelio . The guy is perma-injured. Rafa should know better.

That's a fair point, if it's being claimed that we should have won the league. But even with those players missing part of the time, it's the results and performances against teams that we should beat even without them, like Wigan, Stoke, Portsmouth, Sunderland, etc... and the utterly dire, passionless bilge that's been presented to us all too often, this season and last, that has me where I am.

Those injuries and a l;ack of squad depth are valid reasons for us not challanging for the title. They're not valid reasons for fighting to hold on to 7th, which depending on this weekend's results, we may have to win our final game to secure.

Yep, this too. We shouldn't lose one or two players and look like a midtable team. We've looked like a midtable side with a full team at times this season. Not good enough. And that's down to the manager and his tactics.

Krissr mate, just go out in the street now, find 10 Evertonians, and ask each one if they want Rafa to stay or go.

That'll pretty much tell you everything you need to know.
