I agree.

Splashing cash in desperacy towards the end of a transfer window might make someone wet their pants. However it will probably only fill the squad with expensive wannabees who we dont get rid of when we found out who we really needed to do the job.

I find it a bit suspicious that this guy's 'aide' is telling the press about issuing ultimatums and being 'the only serious bidder'. It feels wrong. A serious bidder wouldn't do that, surely?
I don't believe there is any form of ultimatum for one second. No serious businessman would expect a deal of this magnitude to go through in 2 months never mind 2 weeks. However they may be looking for some form of guaranteed undertaking from RBS that the deal will go through without interference from G&H. On that basis they may be prepared to make a 'loan' to the club for transfers. Is that even legal never mind possible ?

I would also not be in the least surprised that if G&H felt they were being out-manoeuvered by some form of deal to sell the club, at a price far below one they feel acceptable - and meaning they would not make a profit on their investment - to see them resort to legal action to prevent the sale on those terms.

H&G no longer have the power to demand we transfer players.

According to a friend who has "real" information from Spurs, Levy was prepared to break their wage structure (given Cole was on a free) and offer him 80-90k a week - a similar wage to our offer.

He chose Anfield out of a desire to play for the club, a fresh start and the virtual guarantee that he'd be an important cog in the wheel here.

Good stuff and more along the lines I thought / read.

It is quite an awe inspiring web site 🙂) !

A group of fellas forced to play ping pong at gunpoint on top of a frozen peak and a chinese mini baseball team probably all orphans no doubt .... Wicked stuff!

It could well be a refreshing change for our overly pampered stars hahhaha....

I can see this appealing to our beloves comrades in charge of the SOS.... Finally we actually will be a red army.

Hold our horses... erm not every seems rosy (as expected). It looks sneaky and as I fear someone seeking publicity.

It seems like he is trying to piece together a one-man-created sports empire: baseball, basketball, football; the US, England and China," said Maggie Rauch, editor of the China Sports Today blog. "The industry perception is that they are keeping an eye on this guy and seeing what he is up to. So far he has maybe done more talking than doing as far as building anything here in sports goes.

If a forced sale does happen, it begs the question of what the Americans are allowed to do in the short space of time before the handover takes place. Can they legally cash in on a sale of say, Torres? I assume there are legal obligations to relinquish their ownership as soon as RBS says so.
They can't sell Torres if he doesn't want to go. He has a contract and if serious investment in the team is pending, I doubt he would choose to leave.

to see them leave without profit would be the icing really

According to Tony Barrett, Torres will probably stay even if the takeover doesn't go through.

Just been on Five Live

Offer is 325 million
Is being taken very seriously by LFC directors
RBS have financial advisors looking at it but have not had any direct talks with Huang
2 week deadline or no deal

Also said LFC say there are other deals under consideration, but this deal according to sources has a real chance of happening

Doesn't seem as much as might have been expected, but the RBS Chief Exec.was quoted recently as saying they probably lent too much to Statler and Waldorf in the first place. Maybe they're just not prepared to wait for repayment any longer. If so, that could well be down to Government pressure, now that the taxpayer has a majority stake in RBS.

It sort of sounds like a hostile-takeover. Kenny H would have looked through the books this past few weeks, has probably been following the on-going's including the distain shown by the fans and has thought it's a perfect time to make the move. If the reports are to be believed and that G&H don't come out of this with a profit then that has to indicate a hostile take-over. Three of the board members should vote for a deal to go through so it could be very interesting. The two week issue would really be for the fans consumption more so the banks. I am sure Kenny H's PR firm has dropped this info to push the fans into action with regards to putting pressure on the banks. Why else would they need to say it? the banks only care about their money and if they are watching the on-goings in Texas with Hicks and his other two sports teams, RBS should be ready to sign-off a.s.a.p.

my humble two-pennies worth!

YNWA!

No Wiki page, his company's website looks like the home page for a little league and no-one knows anything about his backers.

I just hope we end up selling it to the right people this time.

He's quite the respected businessman from what I've heard. And his backers are if rumours are true rich beyond imagination.

The board votes I guess would consist of Gillet, Hicks, Broughton, Purslow, Ayre and Nash. Would it need a 50% vote (I suspect everyone but G&H would need to vote in favour). I would love this all to be true and those two greedy lyings cunts to walk away with very little but past experience simply blocks any kind of excitement or anticipation to take place for me. I'm essentially blocking it out.

Players are assets so one would assume G&H have no control over them if RBS are now running the ship.

Is out board consisting all our directors? Very strange. I would assume only the man dir to be on the board, as the board is giving instructions that the directors should follow.

Of course. Let's hope that in 2 weeks time that investment is in place.

Or maybe Torres will give us one more year, regardless.

*hopeful*

Its been said there are no other bids on the table. This has to happen really or there needs to be some pretty strong reasons why it wont

Hopefully he gives us that extra year. And who knows, if the new owners are in place, maybe we can build a squad that will be challenging this time next year.

It undervalues the club?

Huang hasn't actually got the cash in place?

The 1 millionth "smokescreen"?

£350m for a club that was purchased for £237, isnt undervalued considering, if anything, we've gone backwards under the two twats. If anything, their value of the club is vastly overpriced.

Maybe he hasn't got the cash in place but, given how out in public this is, it would be a big dent to his business reputation if this is the case and he's not denied anything up to now

If it's a smokescreen, it's a confusing one - but I guess that's the idea of them.

The whole ownership fiasco is one big joke and needs sorting soon whatever otherwise we're going to find ourselves in even bigger trouble than we are now.
