ouch. says it all. i remember Rosco once posing the question of whether teams miss a trick by spending so much on top quality strikers when the role could be performed adequately by second tier ones and the surplus funds better invested in the creative areas of the team. well, how we could've done with Torres there tonight.

Some of the chances Suarez makes for himself are amazing , but yeah he needs to start finishing more of them . If he does that he'll be world class. Oh and he needs to cut some of the shite out and just get on with it .
Ok, i know most people have been very happy with him so far but Enrique , for me, can be far too relaxed in defending sometimes . He was so slow in getting out to the crosser for their goal and well once it went in , it was frankly embarrassing . I'm not sure if it's just a problem with the defenders or how the team defends as a whole but i think it's time the coaching staff properly address it if they aren't already . And just going back to Enrique ....i'm near certain that before the season is over we'll concede a terrible goal where he's caught in position deep in our own half .
We made enough chances to have scored a few yet we were still shite in large parts . I think they deserved their point . And well it says it all when they go to united and play well but still lose 2-0 , they play well at us and get a point .
But i'm not too upset by the result ...haven't expected much from this season for a few weeks now .

The Downing switch from right to left surprised me, as we were creating a lot. His sub was even more strange as we then had no width what so ever.
Swap Kuyt for Carroll when we made the first sub instead and things would have turned out better.
Gerrard isnt in top form either, and he was clearly lacking in match practice.

Suarez was lively again and was given nothing by a referee judging his repute rather than the game.
Their goalkeeper made the big saves when asked while at the same time looking like he might have a mistake in him.
I thought we looked more dynamic with Henderson and Carroll on the pitch. We played some nice football particularly in the first half.
We are not yet clinical enough or top four status, perhaps as Gerrard regains match fitness we might get the edge we need to convert the passes into goals.
