“I keep saying we have six teams [in the running],” said Mourinho, 50, speaking at a news conference.
“I keep saying that Manchester United are the current champions and they have a fantastic team. Manchester City have an unbelievable squad and I keep saying for me Tottenham Hotspur have an amazing squad, too.”
However, Mourinho does feel that Brendan Rogers’ Liverpool may fall short because they cannot match the other sides financially in the transfer market.
Liverpool, though, have brought in five new players as they seek a return to Champions League football after failing to qualify for the elite competition since 2010.
“Liverpool has the history, the manager, the players but I don’t think Brendan has enough finances to make a big improvement to his squad,” Mourinho added.
He also feels Arsenal are genuine title contenders despite their faltering start to the domestic campaign, which saw Aston Villa beat them 3-1 at the Emirates last weekend.
“Arsenal are probably a much better team that the media think after the result against Aston Villa. They are good,” he continued.
“For me, six teams are in there and maybe after this weekend some other teams will lose points.
