Doesn't look like he'll figure as a starter for Jose -

Surprising is the least I can say but where is he going to end up? Will he be satisifed as a bench player after leading Chelsea's two recent European trophy runs? Will Jose sell to Manure or Arsenal? Loan to us?

Who knows, but it's unfortunate for footy when one of her top magicians is relegated to the bench

Anyone who suggests he might want to join us should be banned for a day. Just pre-empting the silly talk.

Read on friday that the club has been made aware that both Moses and Mata are available for a transfer/loan.
Even if we are interested in Mata I dont believe for one second he'll want to join us.
Only possibility is if Chelsea reject bids from Arsenal and Utd who could be interested.
Moses doesnt really improve the first team imho.

Apparantly we're interested in Konoplyanka. That would be a good signing and I hope there is some truth in that rumour.

Seems like a lot of the speculation is more wishful thinking than actual evidence of a potential transfer, regardless of the club on the other end.

Can't see Maureen wanting to leave him go to any competitor. Id say if that was to happen the only possibility would be in a swap deal of some sort with the scum for Rooney.

chelsea sold gallas to the arse in jose first stint so cant see them having no problem selling to a rival.

Story in the times about this and linked in with the rooney story

Who is this rival everyone's talking about?
Chelsea don't see us as rivals, they haven't done that since we gave them Torres. Later on Meireles.
So I can definitely see Mourinho selling Mata to us but its not gonna be cheap.

Although we've fallen away since he was in England Maureen will remember Liverpool as one of Chelsea's fiercest rivals, and the fact that we're currently not as competitive is something he should be keen to prolong if he has any sense. Providing us with a forward unit of Mata, Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho would be fairly unadvisable for Chelsea.

What were they thinking when they let Sturridge join us?

That's probably so, although I see Maureen this time taking over Ginsoak's self-appointed role as the league's godfather, cultivating a support system of very pliant managers who feel indebted to him for various favours, including sending them players he actually couldn't care less about. Rodgers is already enthralled by Maureen, and it's hard to envisage him ever developing the competitive edge towards his old mentor that a Rafa-type had. Mata's too good a player, as you say, but I wouldn't be surprised if the egomaniac indulges Rodgers with some other loan or cast-off.

Mourinho said it himself, "Do we need to sell? No we don’t. Do we need to loan? Probably yes, because I don’t like to have big squads. I like to work with a small group of players."

Mata on a loan would be amazing, but it's hard to see him leaving.

If Willian does come in, it would seem more likely that Moses will leave. Mata gives them cover and competition for Oscar and Hazard.

@MataStats: Juan Mata signed for Chelsea, two years ago today. Since then: CL, FA Cup, Europa Lg, CFC Player of the Year (x 2), 32 goals and 49 assists.

Freak.

I suppose if it were a loan he'd strengthen us against his rivals....

I daren't begin to hope.

Why would they replace him with Willian?

Chelsea in the last few years have tried to buy players that can play a prettier passing game whilst Mourinho has always struck me as liking his teams to be solid in the middle and quite direct. Willian can give them another option that can run with the ball and take players on rather than looking for a pass all the time. It does seem as though it does seem as though they've gotten involved just to fuck with Spurs however.

Freak.
Does strike as slightly insane to consider getting rid of someone with those figures.

It's a personal vendetta. Don't you think Torres is next if they manage to sign Rooney?
