According to the Telegraph. He's had surgery on his knee, and is out until march.

Fuckity fuckity fuck fuck!!

So what to do? Bring in another right back? Play Carra, Kelly or Degen?

18+20m of talent 'untapped' for majority of the season...

Kelly seems to be still out and it could take another few wks before he gets back.

If Degen can indeed fetch a 2m transfer fee, I would prefer to offload him now instead. Carra at the back with a more attacking option in Rodriguez in front of him for the moment should be sufficient.

I'd be amazed if Degen goes and we don't bring in cover.

Johnson and Aquilani have not worked out well at all this season. I really hope we get our moneys worth in the coming seasons.

If memory serves me well, and often times it doesn't, both Shaggy and God become active members of our 1st team when injuries forced the manager's hand. They never looked back. So hopefully, someone will take this opportunity ...

Maybe Pacheco will get one or two more appearances, but it's not in his position that we're missing players - they're just badly underperforming. Other than him (and Kelly, who I don't think will be thrust into the first team as soon as he recovers from injury), I don't think there are any outstanding candidates.

It'd be nice to see Pacheco and Ecclestone on the bench for the Reading game just in case by some miracle of miracles, we gain a comfortable lead and can afford to ease up later in the game.

Was Johnson particularly injury prone before he came to us? I think its just bad luck in his case. Poor planning in Aquilani's case though

I think this means we really do need to ditch Degen now and either get someone else or start giving some of the reserves more experience. Degen is completely unreliable and therefore the worst back up imaginable

Kelly is due to be available from 10/1 according to the injury website. He hardly going to be match fit though.

Degen and Kelly will do. We have bigger problems than right back.

Mainly like width issues, striking issues, and talent issues

Dossena certainly has width issues.

This isn't good news at all, but still not arsed about letting Degen go this window. I'm sick of shit/fat/injured players I'm not going to lose any sleep when we finally fuck one off.

If Kelly's back - great. If not Darby isn't so bad. I didn't didn't see the game against Reading, but the Aldridge on CityTalk commentary said he played extremely well and even gave him MOTM.

Give the lad another chance, and lets lose passengers like Degen for good.
