Does Allen get a new contract? I've always like him and I've no problem him staying. I know it'll depend on who we sign in the summer but should we keep Joe on the books?

He has 15 months left on his contract btw.

I'd have no problem giving him another couple of years. He's been very good at times this season (and before anyone chimes in, yes he has been poor at times too) and is a useful option to have. Whether he stays may depend on Joe Allen himself. He doesn't start a lot of games, but Klopp clearly does rate like him, probably depends on whether he accepts being a bit part player again.

The majority of us were agreed that he should have started against Dortmund in the biggest game of our season so he's certainly a good option. That said, if we lined up a top class replacement we would rarely talk about Joe Allen again. He's good enough for now, but not where we need to go. Therefore I'm not that bothered either way.

Unless Rossiter and KStew are ready for more responsibility - I'd stick with Pirlo for 1-2 more years.

His replacement / understudy is neither one though - it's Brannagan!

I think it all depends on Allen - he might want to start more games elsewhere instead of hanging around picking up 30 minutes here or there. His LFC career has been derailed by unfortunate injuries just when he hits form, so much so that I'm actually half-expecting him to pick up an injury again some time soon (obviously I hope not!).

I'm okay for him to get a new contract if he wants to stay on, but if he wants to move on in the summer for more regular game time, then at least he's playing well enough now for us to get a decent fee for him. Alternatively, we could just retain him for the next 15 months, let Brannagan continue to understudy him, and let Allen leave on a free after that.

Allen has proven himself useful in these past few games, but our midfield still needs some work.
Is Hendo worth keeping? I'm not sure.
It all depends imo, if we get a ridiculous bid for both I'd definitely sell. Along with Lucas.

LUCAS HATERZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Of our midfield I'm most concerned over Henderson long term. That foot injury isn't exactly going to improve massively

I don't care. It's pretty clear Klopp is going to buy another Central midfielder in summer. If it was me I'd get rid of Allen and obviously Lucas, and buy two, because if Henderson loses his physicality, energy and mobility, he's not worth a place in the squad, never mind first team.

I forgot about Grujc, or whatever his name is. But I hope he buys another one anyway.

I'd rather sell Henderson for 25 mil than Allen for 10 mil, tbh

Use that to buy a top DM to partner with Can. Then have Allen, Grugic, Stewart, (Zielinski) as the back ups.

Simple

10m for Allen??? You'd never get that. Id prefer to sell, Lucas, Allen, Hendo and Milner to be honest. Get in a combative MF and ball playing one in the summer.

So we sell pretty much our entire midfield and buy two? That's crazy talk. Milner is going nowhere, Allen has done well for a while now. Lucas can go, Henderson has suffered a bad injury but deserves some indulgence and a bit more respect.

Allen will be sold if an offer came in. He played very well yesterday, but overall his influence in games has been average tbf.

I can see either Allen or Hendo getting replaced if we can get decent money......The British premium

Why on earth we would sell nearly all our midfielders and why Milner? As Brendan said earlier, he's contributed to 19 goals (via goals/assists) this season. What would we achieve by selling a solid, dependable pro who plays nearly every minute for us?

I still think some people don't want to warm to Milner because he was Rodger's man. I genuinely believe that is the case for some people. It's dead weird.

Every player has his price but the price for either Allen or Hendo will be fairly high, not just because of the premium but also because they've been playing well. Allen in particular will cost a fair bit more than he would have done earlier this season. Otherwise I reckon we'll be quite happy to keep them.

Milner's going nowhere, nor should he.

Milner is one of those players that many Liverpool fans seem to have decided just isn't any good.

There are players who quickly (or not so quickly) become obvious favourites on "influential" LFC websites and podcasts; the likes of Sakho, Lucas, Firmino

And there are others who seem destined to never quite get there, are viewed with distrust or apathy, but who don't seem any better or worse than the favoured ones; Milner has joined these ranks, along with Lallana, Benteke, Henderson.

I've often rated players that seem to be less popular - or at the very least very split in opinion, and vice versa, so I can't really moan too much about favouritism.

Allen's entering the final year of his contract. His "value" is only going one way.

Isn't dislike brought on due to what the player represents? I've notice that a lot. If you didn't like Rodgers, that hate drips down to some of the players HE purchased during his tenure.

On the flip side for an example, extreme Rafa fans are usually extreme Lucas fans. It can work both ways. Have we any huge Rafa fans who dislike Lucas? We're gonna need a venn diagram to plot this.

I like Benitez. I have always genuinely hated Lucas. And before anyone starts getting all chippy about "hating" a Liverpool player, I'll save you the effort of responding, I mean it in the context of him as a player. I don't genuinely hate any Liverpool players.

Apart from Balotelli. And Shitandje. And Diouf.

I can't understand the Milner hate when there's a Lallana to compare him to.

For me Lucas is a like a symbol our mediocrity in the last 7 years. And yet every single manager has seemed to love him.

He should never ever have been a first team regular. Instead we left him there and ignored one of the most important positions in a football team.

Yes I liked roffa. Not so much Lucas. But he's not the worst.

I never got the fuss about Henderson. I think he's mediocrity personified.
