Hansern

Thinks he owns the place

Seems we've had scouts in Bilbao during their last games, and Rafa is apperantly interested.

Excellent player, and was the player I wanted to replace Alonso.
Does that mean Aqua will be offloaded? If he is, it would be some of the worst transfer business in the history of world football.

No harm in having an excellent addition. Might not spell the end of Aqua

I don't think Aqua was bought to replace Xabi. He plays more in the role that Gerrard was occupying, prior to last weekend.

So Benitez bought a player to play in a position in which we already had one of the best players in the world, and didn't replace Alonso at all?

Mind you, he's done that before.

We already have Lucas

Who knows Lucas might be sold, and replaced with Martinez.

aint gonna happen. where is the indication that rafa is anything less than over the moon with lucas' contribution?

delusion...

I wouldnt be fussed with Lucas staying as cover for Mascher. But either way, regardless of how good Martinez is, WE NEED A FUCKING ATTACKER! (and a winger, and a left back!)

Everytime I have seen Sneijder play this season I wonder why Rafa didn't accept £20m & Sneijder for Alonso, it would have been the deal of the decade and even seemed obvious at the time.

Is it SG on here who has been banging on about this lad for a while?

I don't think Lucas is as bad as some make out, but i'd be much more happy if we could choose from Aquilani, Stevie, Mascher and Martinez next season.

Me too.

I like Martinez, probably looking at another 15-20 million for him tho! Think theres alot of fans would prefer to see that spent on a striker or in a different position! The left side of defence also stands out as somewhere which is currently occupied by a breathless cunt that needs replacing asap!!

It would be even better if that was sneijder + robben + hunterlaar for Alonso. Wishful thinking though.

A super player, although nothing like alonso. As I've said befor, more like the lucas we were promised rather than the one we received.

He'll surely be too expensive though considering we have bigger priorities?

It hurts to think that we sold Alonso for €35m and Real Madrid subsequently sold Sneijder and Robben for a combined €40m.

The only indication he needs is the fucking Premiership table and our Thursday night fixture list.

One of the main reasons I want Benitez sacked is that it will also mean the end of Lucarse's Liverpool career.

I remember there being speculation that the owners stipulated a cash only deal with Alonso. Whether that's true or not, who knows.

Sneijder was great for Real Madrid when fit and he looks great for Inter as well. Great footballer.

rafa really should be using lucas as mash's understudy and pairing mash with an attacking midfielder. the lucas mash combo has to be the most toothless in 'premiership' history never mind liverpool's.

kinda like the Xabi + Momo combo a few seasons back (Xabi was pretty disappointing then, after quite a successful debut season)

by the way, if I were a businessman like G & H, I'd prefer a "cash only" for Alonso's sale too.

I remain unconvinced that Gerrard will be here next year. Maybe that's why we're looking at other options in his place.

But I'm sure I read that Schneider didn't want to come. Therefore blowing that deal out. They're not slaves ya know (unless Blatter or Ronaldo are speaking!)

I would have loved Sneijder here. Fantastic player. However, that rumour doesn't haunt me half as much as the Higuain one. If it is true and we we're offered him in the Alonso deal and didn't exercise that option then someone is a fucking clown.

Not exercising that potential option is criminal. Higuain is a beast of a player.

I don't remember reading that, I think Sneijder would have looked favourably at a move to Liverpool.

Guys, cmon, we might be buying Javi only to sell him 6 months later, who knows?

Eureka! Have you not noticed that we have become a trading club. Buy low sell high. eg Crouch, Sisoko, Bellamy (yes we did make some bad trades eg Keane....)
