Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on a move for Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong, according to reports.
The German is keen on bolstering his attacking options in the January transfer window and has sent scouts to monitor the 23-year-old’s performances in Belgium, according to The Lying Rag.
Acheampong is capable of playing as a left winger or as a left-back and is valued by Anderlecht at £6 million.
Sunderland and Newcastle United have also been credited with interest in the player.
Acheampong has been capped 12 times by Ghana and is set to feature at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

Brazilian media, ESPN, linking us with Thiago Maia.

Jürgen Klopp has asked Liverpool to consider Santos midfielder, Thiago Maia, (19) who is likely to leave in January. (ESPN Brasil).
[article]Liverpool are one of five European clubs interested in signing Santos midfielder Thiago Maia, sources have told ESPN Brasil.

The sources said Monaco, Schalke, Napoli and Zenit St Petersburg are the others interested in 19-year-old Maia.

Zenit are the only club to have made an offer so far, according to the sources, but their €18 million bid was rejected.

Asked about the report, Thiago Maia told ESPN Brasil: "I'm on vacations. It was a busy year, but very important for my career. I won a gold medal in the Olympics.

"In Santos we had a regular season, we won the Campeonato Paulista [regional championship] title and stayed in second place on Campeonato Brasileiro.

"Finally, now I want to take a rest and let the people who take care of my career and my club decide if it is the moment for a transfer.

"If I stay, the supporters can rest easy because I will repeat the good season, fight to win the Libertadores and be a champion."

Maia won the Campeonato Paulista (regional championship) with Santos and was named in the competition's Team of the Year, as well as helping Brazil to win gold at the Rio Olympics.[/article]

He isnt an upgrade.
I think we need to go and spend proper 20 to 30m on a fucking keeper.

You keep paying 8m you get fucking 8m worth keepers.

Its the one area we seem to think we can get away with some cut price Rolla Cola cunts.

We wouldnt do that with any other player.

Would it be of any consolation if we splashed around £20M (which is the quoted figure in today's papers) on Kasper?

That seems quite steep though
Perhaps, yeah.

He's tied down to a long contract, just won the Prem and is in his prime years (for a goalie) and the market is inflated.. so I kinda guess it's not completely unrealistic should we actually be in for him.

And it would be 'cheap'-like if he gave us 6 or 7 years of total world goalie dominance - and every Manc I know would be fuming if he signed for us, that's the extra spice in this deal...

We should go all in for Lloris and offer 30m or something. Levy would find it really hard to turn down and it would massively strengthen us/weaken them.

Yeah, and then Klopp will have to explain why we signed the wrong Loris – probably because of a typo.

Kidding, of course, I still think Karius will come good. But I also recon Lloris is one of the top 5 GKs in the world right now and I agree signing him would both strengthen us and weaken Spurs.

Has he signed a new deal?

Tottenham began contract negotiations with France international Lloris this summer.
The club have already secured the long-term futures of a number of their star players but discussions over Lloris’ deal have stalled.
The Sunday Mirror claim Spurs are now stepping up their efforts to convince the 29-year-old to stay at White Hart Lane past his current deal that expires in 2019.
But it is feared Lloris could reject an extension if he believes Spurs cannot meet his ambitions.
According to the report, Lloris is keen to win trophies, having lost in the final of Euro 2016 to Portugal this year.
The former Lyon goalkeeper joined Spurs in 2012, having won two trophies at the Ligue 1 club. But he has failed to add to that haul since his move.
Spurs’ early exit from the Champions League is also said to have alarmed the goalkeeper, although manager Mauricio Pochettino believes the club will be better suited for European football next season after their experiences in this campaign.
