Summer 2014

Kind of borderline case with Ibe. He played for the first team, but I think never started an EPL game, unlike Suso or Robbo.

I can't for this window. We are back in the CL and have an exciting young team and manager.

We wont be trying to loan some no mark, we are already linked to the likes of Thomas Fucking Muller.

So looks like we'll go for

Lallana
Caulker
Rojo
Konoplyanka

and maybe one or two others. What do we think of that?

Echo says we want Lallana but have cooled our interest in Kono. Hope we're only doing that to get the fee down.

8 mill bid considered for Caulker acc Bascombe

No chance of getting Caulker for £8m, surely.

I'd be a bit gutted if we don't go for Konoplyanka. Would depend on who the alternatives are, though. Someone like Markovic would be great, but Griezmann is mentioned a lot at the moment and I don't quite see the fuss about him.

Supposedly Caulker has £6m release fee, so not sure why 8 would be necessary if he wants to come.

Greizmann is pure quality Peter and his goal scoring is higher than Kono. I'd love both personally but can't see it happening although Kono is in his last yr of his contract so I'm hoping £10m or less, ambitious? Probably.

Hasn't Caulker got a relegation clause? That's what certain reports are saying, guess it depends how much it is? And I believe Spurs also want him back as well, hopefully he'll have seen what a mess they have been this yr

When was Tony Barrett last right about something?

I don't know, he seems like a credible person to me. What are some of the more egregious examples of him being wrong?

£6m would be a bargain. So would £8m, though, so no big deal either way.

I know lots of people rate Griezmann, but personally from the bits I've seen he doesn't look particularly impressive. Excellent goal scoring record, though, clearly.

Somehow, he (Griezmann) scores a lot of headers. I doubt that will translate to England though.

They need quality additions. They need three players to go straight into the team — two defenders and a midfielder — then another striker and a wide player to add depth and quality.[/article]

I don't give a shit who we get - as long as BR gets the team to play like he has this year I really don't care. We are awesome when we go forward and do those 500 passes and have 70% possession. It is just wonderful to watch. I use to love Brazil because they played like that, but I am now more excited about our LFC team now. I want this season to be over so I can seem fuck up the Mancs, Arsenal, Spurs, City and the rest of the shit we have to share the PL with. Oh I really want Chelsea to die next time we come up against them. We did learn from that game, because Palace started doing that park the 2 busses shit and we were 3-0 up. S

Every player in Europe/World should be lining up outside at the clubs gate ..wanting, hoping that they can get in our team. Come here to play football like it should be played.

Yep, that's sounds about right. A CB, FB, CM to compete with Allen and Hendo, winger and a 3rd striker.

Spurs apparantly have a 50% sell on clause.
6-8 mill for Caulker would make it a very good signing.

This summer could be a defining one. No mistakes allowed.

Not really true imo.

We have way more room for mistakes than any other team imo. With 6 players, if 3 are class & 3 duds we should still be in a stronger position than anyone bar perhaps city, cos that failure rate applies to Utd Chelsea & Arsenal too, no matter how much cash is spent.

Don't we say this every summer?

Haha. Yup!

We must sign players who will move us on a level. We've gone brilliantly this season but CL football will make a massive difference and we won't be able to have the consistency we've benefitted from this year.

By no mistakes, if we get 3 out of 6 right, then as long as that 3 are significant improvements then that'll do. However, it depends on the degree of what a successful signing is. E.g. Mignolet would be considered as a success but is he / (will he be) world class.

Hang on, Caulker has a 50% sell on clause AND a relegation release clause at £6m? So the maximum Cardiff can get for him is £3m? After buying him for £8.5m last summer?

What the hell?!

We will make mistakes in signings this summer, but once they are not all mistakes, like 2002 we will push on

I'm not really sure. All I know is he was very highly rated at Spurs and then for some reason they decided to sell him last summer having never really given him a chance. It's a bit mysterious.

Personally I'd rather we went and bought a £20m+ defender, the absolute best we could afford, but I suppose at £8m or whatever Caulker seems to make sense too.
