Twitter itself it not the problem. It's people treating the likes of Moley or Jay Riley as though they are as reliable as Tony Barrett instead of just seeing them as the equivalent of the Croydon Advertiser.

Duncan Jenkins showed that pretty much anyone can fake being in the know if they put enough effort in. I don't doubt that there are some folk on twitter that know players and as such can get team sheets correct, but like you say, there's a desperation to believe these people are as reputable as Barrett, Joyce et al. Chiefly because Barrett, Joyce et al don't go round linking us to every single player, so they provide relatively little to get excited about.

Also why shite peddled by the likes of the Daily Star gets traction.

I paid the very first year he introduced the pay site. It was £5 for a year and I didn't renew as the price went up considerably.

I got my moneys worth as he seemed to be actually getting some genuine info at the start. He had the Heskey transfer completely spot on, and predicted it long before any of the papers had got wind.
