I'm not saying that goals = best player but there's nothing that Rooney can't do in the game - he's like Gerrard in that respect. I don't think he's got the trickery of Suarez but he's much stronger, can hold his own against any CB in the world and has far crisper shooting boots. I love the sheer unexpected genius of Suarez but it's a two edged sword in some respects; he could just as easily hit the post with an open goal.


PS. Any questions on how good Rooney actually is were answered against Arsenal a little earlier. I'd still keep Suarez but I think Rooney remains a better player at this stage.
