Until Suarez wins the medals with us Rooney has the advantage of being able to call himself a champion, you have to respect that.

On a purely footballing level then YES, Suarez is the fucking business, that was some of the most exciting stuff I've ever seen today... Brilliant .. Just brilliant.

Well, actually Suarez is a champion already. He has one title (or more, idk) from Ajax. And he was the main man for Uruguay winning the Copa America. And what Uruguay accomplished in the WC with his aide wasn't too shabby either.

I thought you judged payers "over a season". He's already scored at least 2 one on ones for Liverpool.

I'm messing with regards to 1 on 1's 🙂

The utter desperation he has when refereeing decision goes against him is brilliant. He absolutely wants to win and score goals.

If you want to compare him to a manc then choose Ronaldo. Ronaldo was/is better.

Also the 07/08 Torres was awesome in that when he got a sight of goal, he scored. Simple as.

Suarez forces more and creates more but THAT Torres was simply jaw dropping

Suarez offers way more to the team than 07/08 Torres did, but that Torres was unreal near goal, he only needed half a chance & he'd score.

Suarez is way better than Rooney, simply cos Rooney is inconsistent, & of late seems to be Utds kuyt more than anything else.

Barrymac you sir are nuts, Suarez is amazing but he isn't messi not yet.
The are loads of amazing things about him right now and one of those is his work rate and effort for the team.

I might be nuts, but in this moment would you rather have him or Messi??? Seriously mate, i'd choose Suarez.

You can see the veins popping out of his neck. His determination to win even has my Manc mates slavouring.

He's fucking miles better than Rooney.

We are better than them in a number of positions now thinking about it. Who would swap Reina for example?

I'll come back to see what people have said about this later but, for me, I'll say "No"! At their best I've seen Rooney look unstoppable, ride challenges that would bring down anyone else and his shooting power is just well ahead of Suarez.

I'm certainly not unhappy with Luis and love him probably more than I ever really loved Torres. His cheek and audacity to try things is breathtaking but I suspect at seasons end we'll find it will be the scouse with more goals to his name.

I'll come back and defend this later when plenty on here have had the chance to rip into me. 🙁

Rooney is well overrated. Plus hes thick as pig shit. Remember the prick singing Build a bonfire throw the scouser on top? Remember the world cup without his usual help from the refs? He's no Suarez. Suarez will be 2nd only to Messi in my opinion.

Rooney is not "well overrated" - he's a brilliant footballer. don't be absurd.

As is Suarez. What a signing he was.

It's why I'm calling you nuts Barry, a world class player over the worlds best player?

so wiz, goals = better player?

I remember when we (6CM) were having the messi v ronaldo arguement when ronaldo was outscoring messi when he (ronaldo) was at manu. I know there is no question who is better now but I thought messi was a better player even then.

It's far too soon to say definitively either way IMO. Rooney probably is stronger, but Suarez is more slippery.

Like neil, I don't think the point about respective eventual goal tallies takes us much further. FWIW I reckon you're probably right that Rooney will end up with more, but then Rushie got more than Kenny and that never made him the better player of the two.

P.S.One could argue that Scouse is as Scouse does, so who actually deserves that honourable description more at the moment?

Messi is the only player better than Suarez at the moment. If he continues playing like this and helps us to a few trophies, add to that his performance in Copa America, he deserves the World Player of the Year award.
One question and one question only..............would you swap Suarez for Messi?

For the record, I wouldn't.
Haha.
You lunatic.
Messi's record last season at Barca:
Played 55
Scored 53
Assists 24

Any club in the world would swap their best player for Messi.

One of the top 3 players in the world. For me, to be a true Great, you have to perform in an International tournament. Messi & Ronaldo have yet to do so. Suarez performed at Ajax, and for Uruguay and Liverpool. Had he not been suspended in the World Cup semi final, who's to say Uruguay would not be World Champions? We're very fortunate to have him he's the complete all round striker.

if he hadn't have been suspended uruguay would have been out of the world cup sooner.

the Telegraph's match report:

"On the sidelines stood the man credited with restoring Liverpool’s feelgood factor. Kenny Dalglish has always been a man apart, an island in the storm.
The technical area is his personal fiefdom. It is the only part of Anfield that belongs to him. Every other blade of grass, belongs to Luis Suarez, the man who brought the fear back.

The Uruguayan is a terror. He is a bewitching, bewildering menace, trailing roiling panic in his wake. The 24 year-old did not score in this dismantling of Bolton Wanderers. He does not need a goal. Often, he does not even need the ball. His presence alone is a torment.

An example, drawn from the moments just after Liverpool had taken the lead. It was just after Suarez, bristling with the impudence of genius, had cut Owen Coyle’s defence to shreds with a swerving pass played with the outside of his right boot and Jordan Henderson had curled his first goal for the club past Jussi Jaaskelainen, after the Finn had denied Stewart Downing.

Suarez stood on the halfway line, the ball at his feet. In front of him, Gary Cahill, rated at £17?million but not, as Coyle later confessed, at his “absolute maximum” thanks to the unsettling effects of a mooted move to Arsenal, and Zat Knight, a reliable campaigner. The forward feinted one way, then the other, and then accelerated away. Cahill looked left, Knight right, and the two collided. A pratfall, with Suarez as Road Runner, the defenders as a pair of Wile E. Coyotes. The pair exchanged barbs. A defence reduced to fear and loathing by their unrelenting foe.

Fear spreads and mutates, infecting, afflicting. Jaaskelainen dropped a high ball. Gretar Steinsson handled just outside the box. Coyle’s team shook, and splintered, and shattered."

Suarez is better because he plays for Liverpool.

And isn't a filthy, ugly, sweary, granny shagging cunt.
