International break - Oct

Yeah, I get all this and you’re absolutely right. But still I can’t quite accept it. Szobo has been playing #10 for us since Slot arrived; how much more “focal pointy” can you possibly get? At least with Klopp you could sort of point the finger at the manager to say he shoehorned him into a workhorse midfielder type - with Slot he regularly gets chances to affect the game offensively and rarely does.

And then he goes to his national team and turns into Zidane. An enigma of a player.

Is he really a #10 though?

It was interesting to see Bellingham struggle for England in that role during the summer as well.

MacAllister played 66 minutes in a 6:0 win over Bolivia. Diaz scored in a 4:0 win over Chile. Now they have enough time to get back and recuperate before Sunday. As far as International breaks go, this has been as good as they come.

Uh oh - last time someone said something like that, Harvey's injury was reported within minutes ...

How is Martinez still employed by Portugal? Really, some people have a knack for failing upward.
Lol, its always the case though innit ? This Failing upwards is cultural in sport and business. Sometimes in large corporations they scared to sack someone so that they then force that someome to take a promotion upwards, and then hope they fuck up on a grand scale to force them out or promote them to a position so they dont do more damage. Football is weird though innit ? Remember the same managers getting the same jobs like Pulis, Pardrew, Big Sam, Wroy etc... those clubs never sought to deal with the root cause did they ? Just fucking hiring the same old faces who came up with the same result each time.
