It's only Brentford, but you can see he has ability and he isn't scared to get stuck in and close down, and some of his awareness in that clip is excellent, cf at the end of the clip, the final pass he plays the right hand side. Promising.

Latest from Italy is that the fee is 4,8 mill euros with 1.2 mill euros as add ons.

Insua talks continue
By Simone Bargellini

Talks over Emiliano Insua's potential switch from Liverpool to Fiorentina are ongoing, the latter have confirmed.

The Argentine left-back has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer following manager Roy Rodgson's arrival.

A fee in the region of £5million has been mooted, and the Viola have hinted at their optimism that a deal will be struck.

Fiorentina sports director Pantaleo Corvino told calciomercato.com: "There is a negotiation for Insua, we've been talking (with Liverpool) for a few weeks.

"We are interested in player, we'll see how it will end."

Insua's agent Solomon, meanwhile, has refused to deny that he is in Italy holding talks with Fiorentina.

He told Violanews.com: "Yes, I'm one of Insua's agents, I take care of managing the various negotiations.

"Fiorentina? I don't want to comment, but I cannot confirm or deny I'm not in Florence."

I'm going to Siena tomorrow and to Florence on Monday so I'll check if Solomon's about and get back to yis.

6CM exclusive on its way.

From the official:

Breaking: Insua fee agreed
17th Jul 2010 - Latest News

Liverpool have today agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Serie A side Fiorentina.

The left-back is now en route to Italy to discuss personal terms.

A club spokesman said: "We have agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina and given them permission to speak with the player.

"Emiliano has now left our Swiss training camp and we'll make further comment when appropriate."

Insua arrived in January 2007 from Boca Juniors and has since played 62 games, with one goal to his name against Arsenal in last season's Carling Cup.

£5m for Insua would be excellent business. We still need to replace him though. And find a cheap back-up option if possible.

I'm expecting a left back signed in the next 48 hours, if not, something is seriously wrong. We can't sell our only left back without having somebody linedup.

*remembers the mess our club is in*

We probably have, haven't we..

good fee, had a sneaky feeling that he would come good in the end, maybe he will prove me rights at a new club...not good news on the Mascher front, who will he stare out at now!

With us being pressed for time, Figueroa is a good bet to arrive even though my own preference is for Taiwo.

Roy is deferring all of the transfer questions to Purslow. Makes we wonder if he knows what's happening? I found his comments on Remy curious. Macia saying that Liverpool have been tracking him for 5 years and we supposedly put in a bid for him. Roy wanting to look over a player before bringing him in. Fair comment but I fear that Roy is going to turn out to be nothing but a puppet. Let's wait and see what happens.

Er, well what kind of div would think that Woy got the job because he's a superb football manager with a track record of trophies and success?

I would have thought that his mandate was to bring about a measure of stability but that's about all.

Not being in control of players coming into the club? That's staggering!

Maybe I'm missing something but how is it obvious? Elaborate oh wise one!

My deductions are made from a few articles.

It's the continental way of doing things.

Hasn't Rafa walked into a role where he hasn't control over players coming into the club?

The manager should say who leaves and who goes.

Not some fucking knobhead banker who knows fuck all
[/quote]

He agrees with you that Insua should go (and Benayoun for that matter).

So either he knows fuck all or you both do eh?

The problem with Taiwo is African Nations where we have no left back for the duration of that tournament.

You should petition the Premier League to change their rules then.

Yes, Ferguson is always letting David Gill tell him who comes into the club and who goes

I have every confidence in Cecil as a talent-spotter, he's got all the credentials

it looked as if degen was going to play left back today, so maybe you're right to fear the worst

I understand the continental way of doing things where the Director of Football is responsible for bringing in new players. We've never had that set up at Liverpool unless Purslow is our undercover Director of Football. He is a money man.

Its logical that the manager should be in control of player movements in and out. I find it staggering that he's not.

As for Rafa getting a job where that applies, it would actually save him. He has been more miss than hit in the transfer market.

Wow Buddha, fucking *boss* argument, there! Really impressive logic.

So you'd want *me* to be in charge of who leaves and joins LFC?

Ferguson has no choice.

No manager does. The board call the shots.

It neatly explains why Wenger was forced to sell Henry to Chelsea for £50m, and Vieira to Real for £30m, instead of waiting a few years and getting about half that

Oh, wait no! It totally debunks your argument for the bollocks it is.
