Don't get me wrong, I want him to go too but I don't think he is a twat just for not moving.

As I said before as things stand he will be in line to be first choice at Liverpool. So his choice is to leave for another club (who are not even in Europe) and be first choice there, probably for a lot less money or stay where he is and still be first choice here.

Why should he go? He probably doesn't think he is shit!

I'm guessing he's been told he is surplus to recuirments here, and that his services are no longer needed. We've stripped him off his squad number and said that he can leave. I think he'll be a long way off the first team even if he decides to stay.

He didn't get given a squad number because it was assumed he was leaving. If he stays he will get another one.

I don't see how he can be that far away from the first team. We have noone else. He may have been told he can leave but given how small our squad is it seems unlikely that he won't be selected.
