aquaman will not play until november at the earliest. aurelio coming back is great news as insua shouldn't play every game and i'd hate to see that fat bastard at left back.

someone should start a book on here as to how many games aurelio will last before he breaks down again.

doubt aurelio, agger and aquaman have ever had an injury free season
If Aquaman doesn't play until November (although they are saying October) then these are the games he'll miss :

September

12 Burnley (h)

19 West Ham (a)

26 Hull (h)

October

3 Chelsea (a)

17 Sunderland (a)

24 Man Utd (h)

31 Fulham (a)
an easy 19 points there if we play gerrard in the middle, drop lucas and put yossi behind torres. 🙂

More chance of Aquaman getting fit and scoring 7 goals in October than Rafa doing that.

Good to have Aurelio on his way back..
I think Insua has done pretty well really but last season i thought Aurellio put in some very good performances.

I think is an important player for us on form so i hope he can back to playing well a.s.a.p.

On the other hand, given we seem to struggle around nov/dec it might be a blessing to have Aquaman arrive then to spark the team

Those cards sound even better than the ones Roger Moore used to take Jane Seymour's virginity.
No Way !!

Denmark manager Morten Olsen is expecting Daniel Agger to be fit to play come the Sweden-match on the 10th of October which probably means he's closing in on full fitness.

Great news this, hopefully he'll now leave his back-injuries behind him for good and become an integral part of our starting XI.

Purple Aqui will play his first game against the scum, and bag a brace. I have seen it in the cards.
I remember Morientes made his debut at home to the scum and I 'gave it facking laaaarge' to my manc mates that he was gonna destroy them. He didn't. They laughed at me. Morientes you slag.

Rafa's happy with Aquilani's progress but he's not even jogging yet?

He'll be out for longer than predicted I reckon. Probably just a few sub appearances in late October

How many times have we said that now though.
A lot.

But I reckon it's the first time he's actually undergone surgery on the matter?

I did the same, I thought he'd hammer a few headers in against them and be classy on the ground. A few backheals here and a few flicks there was all we got from a tired Morientes.

He was a low rent Liverpool Galatacio who was completely passed it and unsuited to English football.

The paring of him and Crouch made me hurl.

In hindsight, yes, he was unsuited to the English game.
But you must remeber the excitement you felt when we signed him?
I was verry happy we got him and I felt pretty confident that he would score a lot of goals for us.

True, I was 17, naive, and thought we landed a bargain.

But then I'm not paid wads of cash to get it right, and it was clear from his first few games he wasn't going to make it in England.

Another flop on the list as far as I'm concerned.

felt no excitement at all (signing morientes) knew he would fail, wanted us to sign anelka.

How could you KNOW he would fail?
He had only just knocked Chelsea out of Europe singlehandedly the season previously.
He was in great form.

JAVIER MASCHERANO is a major doubt for Liverpool's Premier League clash with Burnley at Anfield tomorrow.

The 25-year-old midfielder picked up a knock in Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Paraguay on Wednesday night.

Mascherano is having treatment but after playing two full 90 minutes for his country over the past week he is unlikely to be risked against the Clarets.

However, Lucas Leiva is expected to play after making the 6,000 mile trip home from South America.

Lucas was due back at Melwood today and having not featured in either of Brazil's World Cup qualifiers he is set to face Owen Coyle's side.

If Mascherano misses out, skipper Steven Gerrard is expected to drop into a central midfield role alongside Lucas.

Emiliano Insua has got the nod ahead of Andrea Dossena in the opening four matches but Fabio Aurelio is pressing for a recall. The Brazilian has proved his fitness following knee surgery and Benitez believes the Reds have missed the 29-year-old.

"Fabio is a player with quality," he said. "His delivery into the box, especially when we play at home, is excellent. He provides good passes and crosses which is really important. "He has no match fitness but he is much better and he hasn't been away with his country so he has been training hard.

Benitez expects to have £18million signing Alberto Aquilani training before the end of the month. The Italian international is making good progress after undergoing ankle surgery this summer.

Yes!!!

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is optimistic that summer signing Alberto Aquilani could return to training in 'two or three weeks'.

It was revealed when the ex-Roma star joined the Reds at the start of August that he was possibly eight weeks away from fitness following an ankle operation.

But Benitez hinted at the beginning of September that Aquilani was ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation after resuming work in the gym and swimming pool.
The Liverpool boss is now hopeful that the Italy international, a £20million replacement for Xabi Alonso, will soon join his new team-mates in training.

Benitez said: "Aquilani has improved, he has progressed in the way that we expected and now maybe in two or three weeks we will see him training.

"Then we will see how he progresses, but the last scan he had was very good."

aquaman won't play till november if he won't start running till october.

be interesting to see gerrard next to lucas though whilst masch is out.

oh and morientes is much much better than vermin

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has revealed he will not take any risks with Daniel Agger's fitness.

The Denmark international is close to returning to action after undergoing a minor back operation last month.

Agger has yet to feature this season due to the problem, but Benitez believes the central defender could be back in action next week.

Liverpool's injury problems are easing with Fabio Aurelio making his first appearance of the campaign as a late substitute against Debrecen in midweek and other long-term absentee Alberto Aquilani set to start training in the next few weeks.

"Aurelio is now ready for a comeback, Mascherano is also over his problem while Danny Agger is very close to a return and (Alberto) Aquilani is also getting close to being involved in full training," said Benitez.

"When the majority of our squad are fit, we can manage games with more confidence.

"Agger is a risk, he could play now, but he has been out for a long time and we have to be careful with him. But I believe that next week he could be available."

because in the position I KNEW he would be utilised by rafa I didn't think he would have the pace and strength to be a success. it was the same with keane, I figured with torres being torres and gerrard being gerrard where would he fit? thought he would last longer than 6 months though ha ha

Agger when speaking to Danish television tonight;

- My back is feeling completely fine now and there isn't any problems. I've been training hard for the last couple of weeks and I feel ready. It's obvious that I'm still lacking in match fitness but my form is getting better and better.
