That 4-2-2 puts loads of emphasis on the full backs though, & that's not exactly a strong point of ours currently.

I generally agree, but it's worth noting that it'd be a weakness.

Regards Suarez, shadow of his former self is about right imo.

If he was at his best he would not have been nullified by city or Chelsea at all. He is a way off his best.

Having Sturridge back is in no way a problem, he should go straight back into our starting line up when hes ready, his quality makes us stronger.

People always talk about our formations like we are some rigid Hodgson type team, our front 3 has the freedom to do whatever it likes pretty much.

Suarez wide left with Studge up top and Countino in the hole, Sterling wide right and Hendo +1 in the middle.

Suarez isn't a shadow of his former self, he was up against great defenders and still created chances that his teammates missed.

You can#t bang in hattricks every week.

Suarez works best in the centre - why move him to a wide role just to accommodate Sturridge?

Rodgers will keep Suarez Central & Sturridge will probably slot in on the right instead of Sterling.

Putting Suarez in the central AM role, makes no sense either.

The fluidity of our gameplay will allow Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinho to be wherever they want to be on the pitch. It's Henderson, Lucas and Gerrard's responsibility to make sure that they have that freedom.

So on paper you can put Coutinho on the left, Suarez up front and Sturridge on the right but in reality, they'll be all over the pitch.

In BR's parlance, both Suarez and Studge are 9 and a half players anyway. One up front and one in the hole but alternating fluidly throughout the game. Coutinho left, Sterling right. Hendo and another in the middle.

That's why I like the idea of 4-2-2-2, as Suarez drifts, but drifts more to the left, and Sturridge does the same but to the right, it works well together. I do think we need to provide some support to the full backs as wide, so wide attacking midfielders works better for me, the fluidity is great, fantastic infact, but we need to keep some form of shape for the defensive side of things.

That's what I think too. They need to work on rotating and once they do defenders will be lost.

Echo confirms that Sakho is back in training and could make the Stoke game.

Great news!

I'd rather he was fit and on the bench obv, but it's not the end of the world him being out. He's not exactly one of the more important players, it's a bit like aspas getting a knock.
