If we don't win the title this season...

"My message to the fans is to enjoy it," Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo. "We need the fans to stay calm. I know when you want something so much, that's easier said than done.

"They haven't been in this position for a while. I can understand that sometimes there is that bit of trepidation and fear.

"But what we're looking to put in place here isn't just for one season. We're looking to put something in place for the longer term in order to have sustainable success.

"We're hoping that last season was the beginning. It maybe didn't seem that way in the first four to six months but we did a lot of the groundwork last year and we've been evolving ever since.

"The atmosphere at Anfield can be a real cauldron and now we really need our army of supporters to really get behind us.

"If a player makes a mistake, then encourage him. That's so important, because if they get that encouragement then they will get on the ball again.

"Amazing support at home is something we've had all season. Let's make sure in these last remaining games it continues along that way. Don't be frightened to really enjoy it because as players and staff, we will."

Can't see Arsenal winning; hard to imagine they'll even get a draw, the surrendering pricks. It will be totally Wenger-like to go into this game accepting the blame for the Chelsea debacle, and then fielding an all-out attacking team with no steel in the middle. Boom - Nasri scores. Boom boom - Silva scores. Boom Boom Boom - Toure scores. 3-0 at half time and the Emirates serenade their team with a chorus of boos. Again. And then they come out and get deep-sixed once more.

I'll be hoping for a point shared though. 2 points dropped for City is good enough for us, and we also don't want Arsenal to feel encouraged with 3 points - their ending stretch of games is pretty easy and we know what flat track bullies they are.

I strangely have more confidence in Palace upsetting Chelsea and earning Mourinho's scorn by nicking a late winner in a West Ham-like show of defiance, except with an even better result. Com'on Pulis. Park the effing bus and ruffle their feathers.

One down, one to go! I take back all the bad things I've ever said about you, Pulis. You're a doll.

Win the last 7 games and we win it for sure mathematically no one will be able to get more points.

It's just so hard to predict, yes it's in our hands but as we saw today anything can happen so let's just concentrate on tomorrow and hopefully beat spurs 2or3-1 and move on to west ham next week sitting top of the league for the week!!!

A lot depends on how we fail. But generally speaking I'm super excited just to still be in the race. I hope it's given the players a taste for it.

If we don't win the title then it's still been an awesome season.

I expected us to get in to the Champions League this season but not in this manner. The football, the goals, the confidence in the team, from thrashing our greatest rivals to grinding out the results and, more importantly, the steady consistent improvement from the players, the manager and the whole way the club is now, seemingly, being ran.

There's been plenty of highs throughout the last two decades but too many false dawns. This time, though, it doesn't feel like it. It feels like something good is happening, a game plan being executed that's actually bearing fruit.

So, if we don't win the title this season, it's ok. Because we will next season.

i'm well excited. nail-biting stuff.

but if we don't win, i can look back at all those jinx-meisters who have been jinxing us from day 1, trumpeting how we will win this and that, how we will steamroll past teams, as if we have already won the title.

yes, i will blame arrogance and overconfidence.

here's hoping our team will have their feet firmly on the ground and their focus on working harder, striving for more team unity, more humility and eyes fixed on one match at a time......and not be lulled away by overconfidence, some of our fans have been displaying lately.

haven't we learned enough for crying out loud ?!?!?!

Retired defender Jamie Carragher says he played in better Liverpool teams than the one currently challenging for the Premier League title.

Do you agree?

A bit like Kenny this comment, I really love the fact that he doesn't shy too far away from the basics and the roots of success:

"If a player makes a mistake, then encourage him. That's so important, because if they get that encouragement then they will get on the ball again.

Teams, yeah. I think with sides including the likes of Hyypia, Hamann, Gary Mac, Fowler, Owen, Alonso, Garcia, Torres, Mascherano, etc, he may well have done. I don't think he's played in many (any?) that play as direct and attacking as we currently do, or with a better forward line.

I agree with ya there Mark.

No I don't because the best team every year wins the title and what's the best points total with a carra team??

I think we are going to surpass it

What's the point of "10 cup finals" if we can't enjoy winning the first 3 of them?
