So who is the striker, within our limits of attraction, who is going to excite us again?

Consider yourself the transfer committee.

Ok, transfer committee it is.

We already have him, he was on loan in Italy last season and the result - 8th.

Surely with Klopps man-management skills he can bring the good in him out?

Kelechi Ineacho(Man City). He's been played as a sub mostly, but has Suarez fighting spirit & can score goals.

I LOVE THIS GAME!

We could start by looking at Ajax from where we got Suarez and their Polish striker Milik. No way near the trickster as Suarez but he certainly does score goals. Thinking about it he's far more 'Torres'-like. He's defo worth an extra look though.

When I've been really blinkered I've compared Viktor Fischer to Suarez, mainly because of his opportunistic, direct approach never afraid of taking on players and do the unthinkable. He's obv nowhere near the class of Suarez and odds are that he won't reach his levels ever. Will be fun to watch him in the Prem next Season though, he might just look like a £30M winger/forward soon - I think the talent is there.

Ousmane Dembele also seems like a monster prospect but as young as he is he won't reach the heights of Suarez any time soon I guess.

Fact is, there are not many that will are there?

Perhaps someone we haven't really heard much of in Russia or Brazil. I mean Douglas Costa from Bayern has probably been the player I've been the most impressed with all Season. Didn't know much about him on beforehand despite having actually seen him play a few times for Shaktar and then BANG. So by that token that Musa-type from CSKA is perhaps worth a shout? Definitely got goals and speed it seems.

My final shout Sane from Schalke. Such a treat for the eye the way he moves with and without the ball, great skill, immense technique, admirable audacity. He'll be a world class winger/forward no doubt about that. He does remind me a bit of a young Cristiano Ronaldo more than Suarez though. But we might just have to accept that.

I think Embolo would have been great. I don't know why we didn't try to sign him.

Don't think he has signed for anyone yet, still at Basel. Red Bull Leipzig and Spurs are interested according to the Express.

If this was football manager I think I'd probably do a search for the following:

Workrate - 20
Stamina - 18
Finishing - 18
Long range shots - 18
Heading - 15
Pace - 15
Dribbling - 20
Passing - 15
Technique - 18
Controversy - 20

And I doubt very much I'd get any hits, I'll fire up FM later and have a look. Minus The controversy stat, it'll most likely return me Messi. Suarez is such a rare gifted talent that there isn't really anyone like him or looks like being him, I think it's mainly due to his workrate and will to win, there's loads of other players out there with his skill.

this fella...

without a doubt..

GABRIEL BARBOSA

19 // BRAZIL // SANTOS

Introduction: Pele, Coutinho (not Liverpool’s Philippe), Pepe and more recently Neymar, Robinho and Ganso, the list of Santos youth products really does go on. The expectations on the shoulders of young players in Sao Paulo are great, yet the opportunities are even greater and the latest starlet to be flourishing in the famed white and black is Gabriel Barbosa Almeida, known simply as Gabigol.

Analysis: Back in November Gabigol said, “Neymar’s story is done, I should have mine.” While there are obvious similarities in their narratives, both flourishing in the Santos youth ranks on their way to the limelight, the two differ greatly in playing style.

The 19-year-old possesses self-confidence that can border on arrogance, a trait that football’s greatest have all possessed and it is already paying dividends for Gabigol and Santos. In the Brasileirao last term Gabigol registered ten goals to go alongside four assists.

As Ricardo Oliveira spearheaded the Santos attack with 20 goals last season – a league high – Gabigol was deployed from an inside right role, making his double-digit goals tally all the more impressive.

The bearer of the famous No.10 shirt for Santos will, however, see his future lie through the middle. His hustle and bustle approach, coupled with his fine ability with the ball at his feet – Gabigol made 81.1% of his passes in the 2015 Brasileirao – and his ever-improving ability in front of goal mean comparisons to Luis Suarez, rather than Neymar, would be more apt.

There are, as with any young player, weaknesses to Gabigol’s game. For example there is certainly potential for growth in his ability to carry the ball at the defence. Last season Gabigol completed 30 successful dribbles, yet he was dispossessed on 53 occasions. Furthermore at 5ft 9in he is a far from domineering presence as he lost 86% of his aerial battles in the 2015 Brasileirao, however, it isn’t a key part of his game and he is likely to bulk up in years to come.

Looking ahead: It has been a whirlwind two years for Gabigol as he has gone from Santos’ next young hope to a key figure in the senior side, however, this looks to be only a small chapter in the story of Gabigol. The dazzling lights of Europe will eventually beckon but whatever the future holds post-Santos for the 19-year-old, he looks set to be one of the Gold and Greens next big stars; after all you don’t earn the nickname ‘Gabigol’ for nothing.
