They don't really make monster midfielders like Souness, Gerrard, Keane and Viera anymore do they?

Essien was the closest to being at that level.

The silky smooth ones like the Pirlo, Xavi and Xabi seem to be appearing a lot though. Cesc is there, Aquilani is a smooth operator as well even whathisface at Arsenal seems to be a player cut from the same cloth.

I want one of our academy youngsters to come through and remind us of Gerrard as a youngster.

If it is a player that we have to buy, then I would have said Subotic at the start of the window, but i think Coates is a great find. So probably a top winger. But i have my doubts about Hazard.

Martinez is a good shout for a DM.

I agree that we could do with more competition for the DM spot. Lucas only has Spearing as the moment and I'm not implying Lucas is an automatic starter, but if we're being picky I'd like the option of fielding someone tall, aggressive and a bit of a tenacious nutter.

Maritez seems to lack a bit of aggression whenever I've seen him, although I could be wrong.
