Liverpool set to beat Tottenham to Emmanuel Adebayor deal

Tottenham look likely to end an impressive season on a miserable note by losing star striker Emmanuel Adebayor to Liverpool.

The Togo hitman has been on loan from Manchester City this season and has spearheaded a Spurs attack that has fired the club to within touching distance of a Champions League spot.

Adebayor has hit 11 league goals for Spurs, but his wage demands could rule out a permanent move (PA)
Spurs are keen to keep him at White Hart Lane on a permanent basis but, according to Caught Offside, may be about to pull out of a deal because of the player's excessive wage demands.
With Roberto Mancini blessed with an abundance of attacking talent at the Etihad Stadium, that will leave Adebayor looking for a new club.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is known to be a fan and is ready to splash out on another striker this summer, to add to existing big-money purchases Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.
Adebayor has scored 11 times in 26 Premier League appearances for Spurs and offers a proven record of hitting the net – something the Anfield outfit have struggled to do during the current campaign.
Dalglish is also becoming increasingly concerned over Carroll and Suarez's inability to gel as a partnership and could turn to another player to bring a new dimension to the Liverpool attack.

How old is Ade?

Could be ideal, scores goals in this league & shouldn't mind if he doesn't always play.

He's 28

Would be a good signing if we can afford the wages. If they are reportedly too high for Spurs then that makes me worry a bit!

wages reported as 160k a week - and as we aren't likely to challenge for the title for a few years yet I would rather Comolli got off his arse and unearthed a couple of young rough diamonds at a fraction of the cost who could develop into top quality in two or three seasons time, that is his job isnt it.

Wouldnt mind Adebayor at all, and wanted us to Sign him last season aswell. Great match for Suarez and has shown this season that he Could bring something that we really are missing.

If City want rid of Dzeko I'd get him mind..

question about Ade, in a free scoring spurs side he's only managed 11, is that enough considering our tame strike rare?

Why?

Only Mancini knows why he isnt playing, because he's been ace this year.
As he was for Wolfsburg aswell. Fantastic striker, would improve us so much it hurts,

He is good in the box but his all round play isn't all that. I suspect that is why Mancini isn't playing him.

I, unlike many others, don't believe all our problems would be solved by having a so called goal poacher (although, sure it'd help). He'd spend most of his time moping because we don't create clear cut chances for people to put away.

We need to stop buying players whose game is reliant on others performing and focus on players who can make things happen on their own.

His all round play is good. It wont solve our problems, not at all. But he's the right kind of player to add to our attack.

Can't tell you all how disapointed I am not to have got any lovin for the thread title😵

I was *just* about to, count, but you went and made that post.

And put a smiley on the end.

Unlucky.

It was very good mate, vey good.

Didnt find the like the thread title button

*cough cough*

I hope we sign a couple of pyar worldys.
I would ideally like the three lads from Bilboa but I would also love Di Rossi, Higuain, Gotze, Thiago, Villa....ya know...really good players.

But then Im sure Sinclair, Bent and Huddlestone will be great too.

Shit. Just read the thread and saw that the Count asked for title lovin. I take it back.

Oh it's so very fucking true it hurts.
