If I would give the slightest fuck about a bunch of twats who happen to have the same passport as me I'd maybe be annoyed. They could have appointed Schwarzenegger, Hitler, Fritzl or Mozart for all I care.

So I'm only bemused and hope they fail miserably. As they always do.

Haha - As an aside regarding Austria my buddy went to Uni there so visited a lot. Vienna has to be one of the weirdest cities I've ever visitited. (and as most here know I lived in Tokyo! which was bonkers but not 'weird like Vienna) I enjoyed it.... Sort of. No doubt I found myself in the wrorng parts but for one thing women of a certain age regualarly walk around in mink or real fur coats!. There are loads of shops that selll massive pieices of silver like candlearbaras (iand I shit you not - Real suits of armour) The ''Fakur' font was everywhere and at times felt you were walking around in 1820. You could smoke in McDonalds (and everywherehewre really) I guess not so now - It was about 10 years ago I was last there

It is beauutiful though.

My maternal grandparents lived in Vienna. I visited them there a number of times when I was still of school age (before anyone says it, yes, a lot longer than 10 years ago) and loved it. They had an apartment in a real old-fashioned building with a creaky old lift like something out of Hitchcock, you went everywhere by tram which I found quite exotic, the food was cracking - fresh bread rolls from the baker at sparrowfart every morning, AMAZING cream cakes and ice cream shops, sausages of every conceivable kind - and of course I loved the musical side including the opera. Ought to go back and take another look sometime.

Vienna is full of grumpy cunts and wannabe elite twats so I gladly push the whole shithole into the Danube.

It's like London for idiots.

Also (and this seemed very true at the time). There are no children in Vienna! You know that scary as fuck child catcher sniffer from chitty chitty bang bang! It’s like there are are load of them living Vienna and have had the lot! Either that or the Pied Piper has led them all to a Cave somewhere. I was was there for my mates 30th and someone pointed it out. ‘Where the fuck are all the kids’. It took us about 10 minutes to spot one. Even that famous Ferris wheel from’The ThirdMan’ is filled with adults. Weird. Soz @Holle

I had great fun in Vienna, also it's an hour from Bratislava which is great
Thats absolutely true. It cost me and my buddies about £25 to get to Vienna. £20 on easyJet to Bratislava and a £5 onthe train. Which is a 5min walk from the airport. Fucking bargain. Weird as the city it That’s so worth it it’s just silly!
