Henderson

Thought Lusas did alright. Yeah, he gave the ball away at times, but Can is supposed to be doing a lot more with the ball.
He was just running into blind allies or giving the ball away. He was also always 5 touches slow before releasing the ball. Very disappointing display from him.

Lucas is good at winning the ball back. But he lacks the technique to open the play. This is why we miss Henderson so much.

Lucas was fine ffs, he was playing as a defensive midfielder. We missed Milners energy today, as Can doesn't offer any really.

He wasn't really offering great protection for our defence though was he?
Surely that's a pre requisite for a defensive midfielder.

Yeah thats my gripe...he is a pointless player.

He offered zero protection....i dont think we need a player to hang around the centre circle for lose balls and chance for some easy tackles. Typicall i want my dm to monster that space between defense and midfield or quietly dictate it like Hamann....Lucas can do neither.

Can was very poor today, but can we stop sticking the boot in so much? He's played the most games in the squad so far this season, and he hasn't had a rest in ages.

He's still a very young kid, and learning to play the CM role. He'll be a fine player in good time.

Was Lucas really any better?

He barely got a ball to one of our players.
That's not true at all. Lucas actually had a very good game (bar a couple of misplaced passes and getting caught on the ball once) and frequently spread the ball wide to both flanks with precision.

That's because more often than not he was isolated. Palace often had more players in that space in front of the CBs, especially first and last 20 mins.

Wow. We saw different matches then.

Oh and Lucas despite what some of our deluded brethren might like to think was his usual shite pointless self- Disclaimer - although I'm sure Lucas is a nice lad and has the best interests of the club at heart, and avoids harming living things

Exactly.

Hmm, most seemed to think Milner would be godsend under Klopp, but he's been pretty average since. Hope Henderson does come back with a bang.

I'm not so sure. Remember that time he was caught choking Allen's chicken at Melwood?

Yeah, we miss him.

I never ever want to see Lucas and Can together again.

Another midfield partnership featuring Lucas that no fan "ever wants to see again"

He's only ever passable when playing DM with TWO other central midfielders doing everything else.

Neither Can nor Lucas are good enough to play for Liverpool

So Can is good enough to play for Germany but not Liverpool?

I have no interest in the German team, nor do I watch them play. So it isn't a valid point of reference to me. I don't think that getting selected for your national team means much, just as I don't really care if Liverpool players are called up for internationals or associate it with their ability to play for Liverpool.

Can hasn't demonstrated that he is good enough to be a first team regular at Liverpool. He isn't very good at CB, and was a disaster at RB for us, where he made his senior debut for Germany.

So because he is considered good enough to play RB for Germany he should play RB for us? Should he fuck, he's shit at it.

Can deserves time. There's a lot of talent to work with. He's only young and will continue to get better.

The bigger issue is Joe Allen, who hasn't met the required standard of the club and is being kept out the side by pretty average players.
