He's very good but he's also very dull. Captain Sensible.
As is Frank Lampard.

There's an argument that players who are so dull that they don't drink or use passion or adrenaline to play are more consistent over a longer period.

They should certainly be more predicatable over a longer period.

That's a suitably sober defence of dullness!

Forget his fans his biggest critic Mr.Alex Ferguson has a whole chapter in his book about him and his running style.

I thought he was rubbish when he first signed then he slowly started to show signs of improvement and then from jan 2013 he's steadily improved and I've been a big fan since then.
I still think he can get even better too. His new found confidence is fantastic to watch

Playing extremely well, but there's still a lot of improvement to go in him. He gives the ball away a touch too often, and for me he still doesn't get enough of it in the first place.

If he improves those areas then we'll have one of the best midfielders in the world.

My mate(a fellow Red) was appalled when I said Hendo was poor first half against City...aside from that wonderful strike obviously. I thought he was went missing a bit, and let Silva and Nasri run off him too many times.

Excellent 2nd half though...he seems to get better as the game goes on. I really can't believe this is the same player of 2-3 years ago though, didn't think he had it in him.

Improvements to be made as you say but he's come this far so you'd have to be confident of him improving further especially as he's still only 24/25.

At one point a few years ago, partly to annoy people, I believe that I stated in a thread that he'd be the first Liverpool captain to lift the league trophy since 1990. No idea how to find it now but I'm rather proud of that prediction.

Fingers crossed your prediction comes true.

Should I put money on it?

Now you're just laying troll traps.

A perfect example of how football has changed over the recent past, and how the media spotlight is completely unforgining. Buy him in the 70s or 80s and he would have spent a year in the ressies learning his trade, learning what it meant to be a Liverpool player and then would have been eased int the team with barely a murmur. Now every single pass, run, shot, tackle is overanaylsed by fuckwits like us from second one.
He's dedicated, willing to learn, driven, tough, hard working, and will go on to be a hugely influential player for us over many years.
When Gerrard is out he blossoms. Alonso was similar.

Why are you fucking with my air of mystery?

I can just imagine you at Christmas.

"Look wha Santa got us uncle Dave, look, it's a rocket ship!"

"Aye that's a cracker. But it wasn't Santa. Yer da bought it from eBay."
I had originally included a caveat saying "taking nothing away from The doc" but I said, Fuck it, ill stick to the ball busting facts.
