Harry Wilson, get him in the first team

The stats are a bit misleading. He's actually been very patchy this season, and in some recent games he's missed pens and made some woeful attempts from simple positions (while in some of our big wins he's grabbed a few goals). He's always worked hard, and I've long been a fan of him and Ryan Kent - two really pacey wide players who can also score a range of goals - but he's got a way to go before he's truly in contention for a first team place.

Not good enough, which is a bit sad. If Woodburn, who's two years younger, is getting capped by Wales as a reserve. Wilson should be starting by now.

From the little I've seen of him, he does look a lovely, neat footballer for sure - but he seems to have a lack of pace - which will probably prevent him from being any form of regular for us.

Macca, or anyone else that's watched more of him - can you confirm or deny??

I think he actually is pretty pacey. It's hard to make any reliable comparisons but I'd say he's considerably faster than, say (of those of the same age group whom most fans will have seen much of) Alexander-Arnold, and among the seniors he's probably at least level with Moreno. What he lacks, I think, is a change of pace, so there's no Coe-like additional spurt of speed as he runs, it's really exceptionally quick acceleration, and then a constant speed. Another thing is that, unlike Ryan Kent, who tends to push the ball on and chase it, Wilson has changed his game a bit in the last couple of seasons, and he now dribbles with it a lot, and he's also very aware of bringing others into play, so he tends to pass and move more than go for eye-catching individual runs. So I'd say he has more pace than he often uses these days.
