Guard of Honour

I think the guard of honour is a load of bollocks.

How long has it been going on for?

Gerry: fair comment, but IMO arguably an oversimplification. We were substantially good enough last season but for a tiny number of crucial errors. Nobody this season has sustained such a challenge right to the end of the season.

It probably is an over simplification, but Chelsea are likely to only lose two games all season. They've been pretty impressive. All the challengers have spent hundreds of millions, and Chelsea will win the league by more than 10 points. I think you're doing Chelsea a little bit of a disservice.

Chelsea dominated the league this year whilst looking like they were only in second gear

Sadly Chelsea have barely needed to get out of first gear to win the title. We have been woeful and embarrassing. United have become also rans and Arsenal still act like qualifying for a competition for 18 years is some sort of achievement. Citeh will spunk a load more money in the summer and Chealse will too. It's all a bit shit.

My Mrs dad said he would be surprised if we gave them the guard of honour.

Annoyed me that people would think we wouldn't

Regardless of how shit we've done, and how much the plastic cunts puss me off.... They won the league at a canter. They've deserved it. Rarely looked troubled at the top.

They've bought the league with oil money. That isn't worthy of praise. It's just slightly more difficult now because another club might buy the league with their oil money.

It doesn't deserve any respect.

Thats the problem with the sport.

However, they are phenomenally better run then City. The fact that they are allowed to have 60 good players and loan out 35 of them every year is stupid. They work the system very well.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will receive a guard of honour when he plays his final home game for the club on Saturday, sources have told ESPN FC.

Both the Reds and their weekend opponents Crystal Palace will take part in the tribute to the midfielder, sources said.

It will be Gerrard's last game at Anfield -- and his penultimate match for the Reds -- after a 17-year first-team career with the club. The former England captain is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season to join Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy.

As part of Saturday's tribute, the club are set to organise a prematch mural on the Kop, made up of thousands of individual cards held up by fans.

Liverpool will honour club legend Steven Gerrard before his last game at Anfield on Sunday.
Gerrard himself formed part of a guard of honour last Sunday at Stamford Bridge, where Liverpool's players lined up to applaud on new champions Chelsea.
