Sir Alex Ferguson said referees should not be responsible for calculating the amount of time to add on after watching Aston Villa beat Manchester United.

Ferguson argued his case vociferously with fourth official Michael Jones at Old Trafford after three minutes of extra time had been signalled.

He said afterwards: "It has to be taken out of the referee's hands.

"There were two stoppages of two minutes three seconds, but we only played three minutes added time."

what an absolute cock nosher

i hate him with a vehement passion

The same ref who played 6 mins after signalling 4 against Man City.

What goes around comes around, you gin-soaked cunt.

i think he just wants there to be golden goal after the 90 minutes

only if united score that goal tho obviously

It's very rich coming from him, but anything to take some decision making from the ref makes sense to me.

How would it hurt the game to have the 4th official deal with that time keeping, within a more formulaic framework?

I dont know why they don't stop the clock for subs and injuries, throw-ins corners goal kicks the clock continues. If someone is deemed to be timewasting then the ref signals for the clock to be stopped. ONce you hit 90min full time. That would sort it. Stop ald ginface moaning then.

One day soon he's going to keel over whilst giving an interview. He must be a prime candidate for having a stroke.

I actually wonder if teams have lost the art of timewasting. Birmingham were shite at it when they were at OT, dropping deep after about an hour and hopelessly booting the ball forward to no one time and again. Tonight, Villa finally took the ball over to the corner flag, once, but the player didn't seem to know what to do. During Ged's last season it seemed as though every other team was doing that effortlessly against us. It's like strikes - we used to be great at these things, and now we're rubbish.

Absolutely.

Anyone see him ranting at the 4th official? Fucking disgrace no other manager in the league would get away with that!

Noticed that as well. Absolutely out of order!

The mic picked up him saying '3 mins? Where the fuck did that come from?'
Isnt he on probation for his behaviour?

Next time SKY should place a microphone on the 4th official, I'd love to hear all the shite that Fergie spits out.

He does when it's not the BBC and it's a Uriah Heap-like humble interviewer. Apparently this sozzled idiot is going to be involved in the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year show, in spite of his ban on the BBC for daring to acknowledge that his son was under suspicion for dubious behaviour as an agent, because he 'doesn't consider the BBC Sports personality of the year programme to be part of the BBC'. Brilliant reasoning.

That's comic book villain logic right there.

Is it possible he has lost his marbles?

Yes but then, wasnt he on probation at the time of his last offence as well. Then the football league timed it so his suspension was for a carling cup match and away to portsmouth I think. he just keeps on getting away with it and he probably will again this time.
