Go Goetze him!

Oh, can Jono run a script or conduct some ninja tech wizardry to correct all potential spellings of Gotze to how it should be spelled? We are going to have another Frimino, Firmino, Friminho, Friminio situation on our hands. Is spelling it as Gotze correct by the way?

Umlauts fuck up all the links as they get corrected too and don't work.

It should be Götze or Goetze I guess. All the papers will have it as Gotze though.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but you're fooling no one if you claim that at the time you didn't think Di Maria was too good for that United team.

Di Maria is bossing it for PSG now, so he's hardly past it either. Utd was the wrong move for him, or iow LvG was the wrong manager for him.

You're fooling yourself if you think one of the biggest transfer mistakes ever was a coup.

He was being booted out of Madrid and Mendes pulled a favour from United.

Hansern i know I've seen as many Di Maria PSG games as you (none) and him bossing it against Malmo and a few shite French teams is evidence of nothing. (If he has done so)

The reality is you havent a clue, as usual.

I'd love for this to be true and to happen, however I reckon Ancelloti will rate him, convince him to stay, otherwise someone like Juventus/Chelsea/United/Arsenal will offer crazy money and he'll go there instead.

Just hard to imagine a player like Gotze picking us

Don't know about that. Gotze hasn't suited Guardiola's tiki-taka at Bayern so he's not going to suit Wenger's similar approach at the Arse either, the other three sides are all about to change their managers and Klopp will be a big attraction for him.

Why was he being booted out? Ancelotti and Ronaldo were pissed about this - that I remember.

Do you understand the concept of hindsight? Or are you really suggesting that you thought a player who in the season previous scored 12 goals, and got 23 assists for Real Madrid, and was also Argentina's best player in the world cup where they finished as runner ups, was a good match talent wise for a Manchester United side that had just finished 8th under David Moyes?

I mean seriously, give it up Ross, you're clearly completely missing the point.

Indeed. He had the most assists in La Liga aswell. Signing James Rodriguez instead hasnt worked out.

He was very good in the games against Chelsea, among others. But apparantly they're as good as Malmø and he's passed it. Go figure.

He wanted a new deal and Real offered him one that wasn't even close to what the top earners at Real gets. They gave him the option to move to Man U or get benched. United offered more money than PSG. He moved to Man U and sulked for a year.

Yeah Ross is being unnecessary difficult here with Di Maria.

Di Maria is a very good player. He was excellent for Madrid the year they won the Champions League and was very good for Argentina in the world cup. Any united fan I spoke to was delighted to have signed him. The fee was big but they didn't care.

It didn't work out for him at united, LVG, missing passports, house being robbed, you name it. He seemed to want out, and/or LVG wanted him out and he moved to PSG where I presume he is playing week in week out. No idea. I don't watch PSG or read their match reports.

Move on lads, Di Maria chat is pointless here as it only originated from the coup discussion. Instead we should be badgering Brendan for more details on this gentleman we only know as 'sperm'.

What? WHAT? I'm fucking dumbfounded that so many people find this so hard to believe.

He's had a total nightmare at Bayern, it's an opportunity to rejoin his old manager - under whom he played his best football and made his name - at one of the most famous clubs in the world, in one of the best, richest leagues in the world, and at his age, a move to a different country would make perfect sense, as lots of his German international colleagues have already done.

Where's he going to go from Bayern? Nowhere apart from us or maybe Juve. It's a really obvious move, the only possible downside is a lack of CL football.

I'm not trying to deny it's been far from ideal at Bayern, but he still has 20 goals in 67 appearances, that's pretty good and far from a nightmare, it's certainly good enough to warrant interest from a number of champions league clubs.

34 goals in 105 games is a nightmare?
It might not have worked out for him in the end but it hasnt been that bad.
Its only this season where hasnt played that much.

Loads of clubs will be after him. So far its Juve, us and Arsenal.
The Klopp factor should hopefully be enough to conpensate for the lack of CL football.

They took their chance well when he was out injured. They've been getting picked over Ribery and Robin on occasions as well.

Oh well, it seems totally absurd that anyone would even think he might be interested in leaving, given all this new evidence and informed conjecture. He's definitely going to stay, then.

The main reason to why he don't get into the starting XI is that Lewandowski is maybe the best finisher on the planet and Muller is one of the best German players ever.

Götze is IMO one of the best attacking midfielders in the world but that isn't good enough at a club like Bayern to get into the starting XI. His game intelligence is top class, he works his socks off and create a lot of chances but the other two players he is up against is even better.

How many attacking midfielders in the PL is better than Götze? IMO no one. Silva and Özil, two fantastic players. Götze is at least as good as them.

Oh, Arn.

A lot of false rumours about him being lazy etc but that is what Bayern want their fans to think because it doesn't look good that the German hero want to leave.
